Real Dalmatian Men Wear Blankets, and a Local Adopts British Winter Style

By paul 16 January 2016

BIG article on this morning's reforestation initiative high in the hills above Svirce this morning coming soon, but with some of the hard work done, I popped down to the Jelsa square for a midday cold one.

I have to say the boys at Tarantela looked cute. In what looked like a nice new colour-coordinated initiative, there were blankets for all.

It is not as though it was cold today, another lovely sunny day in Dalmatia.

After all, I had just descended from the hills of Hvar, after a little short-sleeved digging.

And then it happened!

A local - none other than Skrmeta, he who created the donkey which now resides on Jelsa's new waterftont, performed an act which few locals have performed between October and May whatever the weather.

A local in short sleeves in winter in Dalmatia!

Life will never be the same again.
