Average Net Salary in Zagreb in July Reaches HRK 6,853

As Poslovni dnevnik reports on October 12, 2017, the average net salary in Zagreb in July was HRK 6,853, which represents a nominal decrease of 1.7 percent when compared to the previous month, and a 5.9 percent increase per annum, according to the data of the City Office for the Strategic Planning and Development of the City of Zagreb.

The average monthly salary for July this year was HRK 199 lower than in June and HRK 382 higher than in July last year.

In comparison with the country's average monthly salary, which was HRK 5,905 in July, the average Zagreb net salary for July 2017, was HRK 948, or 16 percent, higher.
During the first seven months of 2017, the average net salary in the City of Zagreb was HRK 6,916, representing an increase of 5.7 percent in comparison to the same period last year.

Statistics show that the highest average net salary, HRK 11,064, was paid to employees working in the field of extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas.
They are followed by employees in the pharmaceutical industry, with an average salary of HRK 10,528. Areas with the average salary above HRK10,000 also included financial services, excluding insurance and pension funds, with HRK 10,090.

On the other hand, there were five areas where salaries were lower than HRK 4,000 – the average in other personal service activities was HRK 3,854, followed by building maintenance and management and landscape design and maintenance, with HRK 3,944, protective and investigative activities, with HRK 3,962, production of clothes, with HRK 3,840, and manufacture of leather, with HRK 3,975.
The average net salary of workers in hospitality industries was just over four thousand kunas – HRK 4,066.

According to data from the City Office for the Strategic Planning and Development of the City of Zagreb, the average gross salaries of employees in May in Zagreb amounted to HRK 9,564, which is nominally 1.7 percent lower than in June 2017, but 3.9 percent higher than in July last year.
