Ante Gotovina's company has significant credit obligations, more than a massive 28 million kuna.
As tportal writes on the 15th of May, 2018, from year to year, former Croatian Army General come businessman Ante Gotovina's company turns over bigger and bigger figures. Gotovina's tuna farming company, Pelagos net farm doubled its revenue to an impressive 51.6 million kuna. After the payment of taxes, he retained an extremely handsome net sum of 6.9 million kuna.
The good news doesn't stop there. According to Fina, Gotovina currently employs around seventy people. Last year, company revenues grew by 106 percent to 51.6 million kuna, while, as mentioned company profits jumped by a promising 34 percent to 6.9 million kuna. For comparison and to gain some perspective, the company's very first business year involved only seven employees, with a turnover of 247,907 kuna.
Poslovni Dnevnik writes that Gotovina's company has large credit obligations, in excess of 28 million kuna. Of this, 8 million kuna was received back in 2013 from the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) from what is known as the small and medium enterprise program. With this money, Gotovina paid a state concession for the farming of tuna, and about 40 percent of that same HBOR loan was invested in the purchase of Pelagos 2 and all of the necessary equipment for the job.
In the company's financial reports for 2017, handed over to Fina just last month, Gotovina states he will continue with yet more investments this year. He also announced the continuation of business modernisation, plans to buy new cages, another boad (there are currently two), and a new device for the individual freezing of fish.
