14:00: National Civil Protection Headquarters press conference:

There are currently 2112 officially confirmed Croatia COVID-19 cases and 12 new cases since yesterday afternoon. 1560 patients have recovered. Eighty-three people have died. 14 patients are on ventilators. There are 469 active cases.

"We have 11 new patients, a total of 2112. In the last 24 hours, we tested 933. 217 are hospitalized. There are 14 on ventilators, 1560 in total have recovered. Three died, one in Split born in 1929, one in Koprivnica born in 1926 and one in Dubrovnik born in 1936. We have a total of 83 fatalities."

New decision

"We allowed some yachts to sail in Croatia."

The following are questions from journalists

About weddings

"We have expanded the rule, family members can attend, it would not be good to have one hundred people ... You cannot hold wedding ceremonies. Now relatives can come, and they must keep social distance and other measures. We did not allow festivities. And catering facilities are closed," Capak replied.

About hospital examinations

"We keep track of all the services we have done on a daily basis. The results of this morning show that we are going in the right direction. We talked this morning, there are crowds at triage, today they have already provided more entrances, and we will include an even more active private healthcare system. They are taking in all those contracted patients they had under contract with the HZJZ. If needed, other services will be agreed. We don't think chaos will come, we are all here. Together we will try to prevent it. We will take measures day by day. The health system worked for all those who needed it, for example, chronic and malignant patients, dialysis ... there were lots of health care services, not just emergency ones. everyone in the next two months should do their tests. Family medicine doctors now have to triage and decide how to send patients for tests," commented Grba Bujevic.

The French had the corona back in December. What about us?

"These are common situations when you have a new disease. It was the same for HIV, it existed before it was recognized. I read as much as you do in France, it sounds epidemiologically possible. This is the stage where all the laboratories in the world will search our bases and see if there were any positive ones. And we will investigate that. We were able to monitor epidemiologically, we did tests for almost 20 days and there were no positives. But it is theoretically possible that someone was positive with us before 25.2," said Markotic.

Vaccine or cure by fall?

"If we mention that the second wave should be in the fall, there is a lot of research, 71 vaccines are being tested. A lot of drugs, none of them got an efficacy rating, a few days ago, Remdeseivir got it. It has some side effects and some positive effects. Certainly, by fall, they will not be able to get the vaccine or drug tested to be declared 100 percent harmless or effective. There are three stages after which we could say that we had a safe and effective drug or vaccine. In the normal procedure 3, 5, 10 years, in the accelerated procedure one to two years," she added.

Corona at Firule

"We know of this patient who is on the positive list today, and a few days ago we had a positive nurse from that department. There was a virus transmission that made it difficult for that department to work because many people must be in isolation and patients had to be relocated. It was discovered that there were not too many of these contacts. I would say that in this case the situation is under control. Their contacts will be processed, they will be tested. I do not know how many patients are in self-isolation," Capak replied.

About sport

"We are in constant contact. We had a meeting with the Central Sports Office today. We agreed on their order of priorities, we said what our priorities are. We don't know about the competitions yet and have not thought about it. I will get a decision soon.

As for the recreationalists, we opened playgrounds yesterday, so we can do recreational sports on the football fields. All suggestions are welcome, we cannot know all the activities about how the training is conducted. Yesterday, let's say the community of fitness center owners and I received a very qualitative proposal to consider, but we don't know the date because we have to stick to the stages," Capak said.

About the students

"The university dormitories have to be told about the opening of the dormitories. The recommendations are still valid. I don't know how it will be organized with students who have to practice. We have provided a framework under which this can be maintained," Capak replied.

About playgrounds

"We were unable to communicate that instruction. Hygiene, social distance are paramount. It's hard to come up with instructions for children's playgrounds. I hope we publish those instructions today," Capak said.

"All the playgrounds are open, they can recreationally do their sports on those playgrounds," he added.

About nursing home visits

"Homes have not been able to arrange visits, but outdoor visits could be allowed. We are still fighting to keep the corona out of the homes. We understand that this is very important and frustrating that they cannot be seen. We will talk about it."

Testing instructions for patients

"All of the recommendations will change as the epidemiological situation changes. As we reinforce certain things, we will loosen them. That no one expects to receive instructions for every situation for every patient, medicine is creative, it requires a lot of knowledge ... Measures that we are going to prescribe will not be much more than the standards they normally have to protect themselves," Capak added,

What about elections?

"A very difficult question. We have not discussed it yet. There are a number of activities here, from pre-election rallies to voting ... The epidemiological situation should be favorable. For example, the epidemiological situation is favorable. Tomorrow we expect a smaller number again," Capak said.

About schools and kindergartens

"There are questions for the government and the ministry. There is great dissatisfaction with our instructions. But I would say that the dissatisfaction was even before the corona. We provided the epidemiological framework and the rest was answered by the ministry," Capak replied.

Is lack of equipment and staffing too little to blame for the virus invading nursing homes?

"Employment standards and systematization and protective equipment are not the job of this headquarters. There are nursing home founders who set the standards for employees, we define this framework and have tried to make it to protect the most vulnerable. And how the protective equipment is used and what that equipment is can be seen on our website. We cannot solve infrastructure problems," Capak replied.

"Let's stay responsible!"

"We must not forget all the instructions of the epidemiologists and headquarters, in order for our situation to be good, we must continue to follow all instructions, and perhaps start with a new motto - Let's remain responsible," Bozinovic said.

13:45: The Ministry of Health informed us that it finally sent an inspection report to the police, according to which professional failures were not committed in the Home for the elderly and infirm in Split.

13:40: CroatianTeachers Union has sent an appeal to Plenkovic, Divjak and Capak demanding that schools not be opened until all necessary prerequisites are met.

13:35: Osijek Headquarters: Avoid contact sports, we are waiting for instructions on how to use the playground.

13:26: No new patients in Brod Posavina area for 19 days.

13:00: A total of 117 samples were tested in the laboratories of the Clinical Hospital Center Osijek and the Public Health Institute of the OBZ, one of which was positive. This is a person from Gat. The total number of patients in the county since the start of the pandemic is now 130.

12:39: In the last 24 hours in Varaždin County, one new case was recorded, and one new person recovered. So far, 47 people have been infected, and 31 of them have recovered. There are 13 people still undergoing treatment at the Varaždin General Hospital and the “Dr. Fran Mihaljević" in Zagreb, three people from our area are still being treated. Statistically, there are 4 more people in Varaždin County who have only their registered place of residence here.

"The newly infected person is a middle-aged male, in good general condition and without symptoms. Since he returned from abroad on Friday, he was already in a state of self-isolation, and the COVID-19 infection had already been confirmed in the passenger. and he was sent for testing, which resulted in a positive result. One person was put under the measure of self-isolation on behalf of the new infection. Due to the fact that the hospital system was reactivated from precautionary measures this week, additional tests will be carried out, so that 82 people have been tested in the past 24 hours, and thus, a total of 1569 people so far," said Varaždin County Chief of Civil Protection Staff Robert Vugrin.

12:27: There are no new cases in Vukovar-Srijem

12:15: According to the data of the Zagreb County Institute of Public Health in the territory of Zagreb County, 129 people are coronavirus positive. Compared to yesterday, this is the same number, which means that there are no new patients in Zagreb County for seven days in a row, and five more people have been cured. So far, a total of 87 people have been cured and four have died.

12:00: The City of Zagreb has one newly infected person. A total of 468, they said at the press conference.

11:50: According to the NZJZ SDZ report, out of a total of 152 tested tests from the area of Split-Dalmatia County, 5 were newly diagnosed, from Split 1, Sinj 2, Solin 1 and Dicmo 1 (private home for the elderly and infirm). Compared to yesterday, another 18 people were cured of the virus and a total of 317 people have been cured so far. Of the newly infected persons, one person is a patient of KBC Split who has been tested for possible contact with an infected KBC employee.

According to a report from KBC Split, one person, 91 years old, has passed, and was a resident of the nursing home in Split on Vukovarska Street. In addition to several serious chronic illnesses, the person was also positive for COVID-19

11:13: "Such situations have already happened in other hospitals in Croatia. We know that even the entire wards were closing down, including hospitals," Split Hospital Director Julije Meštrovic told Radio Split.

10:55: Šibenik-Knin County also has no new cases. 62 people have recovered.

10:40: Karlovac County has no new patients, and no infected patients at Karlovac hospital anymore. All infected are treated at home.

10:10: A Split doctor in an interview with N1 Television revealed details about an infected patient.

"Epidemiologists are on the field, swabs were taken. The situation is not as dramatic as first-time reports. Swabs from 50 people, including doctors and nurses and patients, have been taken. The patient has been in hospital for some 15 days. There is a possibility that he came infected without showing any symptoms," said the doctor.

9:50: After almost a month and a half of decommissioning, the new decision of the National Civil Protection Headquarters in Pula has reopened children's playgrounds, according to the city's Castrum Pula 97 company, which takes care of 67 playgrounds in 16 local committees in Pula.

8:47: Maja Grba Bujevic also revealed that a private system would help if she couldn't handle the public health system.

"I ask patients to be patient, they will all get their appointment. I pray that if they have any symptoms not to come for an appointment as it would not be good for the virus to enter the hospital system. We have given ourselves a 2-month deadline to resolve any backlog at hospitals," she added.

8:37: Maja Grba Bujevic is a guest on N1 Television. She says she is glad that yesterday there were no major problems and crowds in hospitals. "The continuation of the whole story is up to us. First we have to see what we got from the first phase, we'll see that these days. Then we can think of further measures. The virus is still there, and we have to be very careful," she added.

"You know what started last week ... We moved a lot on 1.5. A lot of people came to Croatia. The numbers today and tomorrow will be the first indicators, and this week we will release activities that are in close physical contact. If the numbers are bigger, it will be first to see where and why, if these are close contacts of known people then there is no reason to worry and the third phase may go normal. she commented.

Opening borders

"I still think that we need to remain disciplined, to have an excellent situation with us. When the situation is good in our country, it is easier to watch our neighbors grow in numbers. Slovenia has had good numbers for two days, in Austria this number is relatively large. the working environment of a Virovitica man who came from Germany who was ill was 5 coronavirus patients, the virus easily crosses the border, "she commented.

8:10: There are no new patients in the area of Virovitica-Podravina County.

15:14: Alemka Markotic commented on whether we were ready for the second wave. More on Index

14:35: "When the first cases came up, we reacted quickly, establishing diagnostics quickly. The Ministry of Health responded immediately by creating plans, we started preparing measures, training, purchasing equipment.

Today, five months later, after learning that there is a new virus, many have downplayed the danger. The next is that all the facilities have been prepared. If we continue to stick to the measures in this way, then we will be ready and more prepared than some other parts of the world," Markotic said when asked about the second wave of the epidemic.

14:30: The Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) on Monday asked the Civil Protection Headquarters to relax measures applied to drivers in international road freight transport, as well as to start driving schools.

At the request of the members of the Road Freight Association, the HGK proposes that quarantine and home isolation measures for international drivers be carried out under the same conditions as drivers in domestic transport.

According to the regulations currently in force, the driver must not leave the house or the accommodation in which they carry out self-isolation, except in the case of an invitation from the employer to carry out the transport, HGK said in a statement.

On their return from a foreign country, a new cycle of self-isolation begins to flow, and it may take up to a month, in some cases more, to change the cycle of driving and staying in isolation in that regime.

HGK Vice President for Construction, Transport and Communications Mirjana Cagalj said drivers had no symptoms of illness, so the Chamber believes that they should be allowed to go to the store and pharmacy and have a limited stay outside the home, as well as other citizens.

14:23: "A report from a returnee from Germany has arrived and he is positive for the SARS-Cov-2 virus. We now have five patients with this contagious disease in the Sisak-Moslavina County area," Staff said.

14:10: Due to the development of the coronavirus pandemic and the need for accommodation, since March, the Zagreb Arena has been reorganized into a hospital for coronavirus sufferers. Today, the assembly of 300 beds out of 750 in the Arena space has begun, and they are being prepared to be transported to the Civil Protection Warehouse.

The cleaning and laying of the beds is performed by the members of the State Civil Protection Unit of the Zagreb Civil Protection Directorate.

14:00: National Civil Protection Headquarters press conference:

Bozinovic congratulated firefighters on their day. "We thank them for their successful work, their heart, and their courage," he added.

Beros spoke:

"The 70th is the day since the appearance of the corona. We have 5 new patients. A total of 2101 cases. One person died born in 1960, who was also a chronic patient. There are 15 patients on ventilators. We have 1522 recoveries, 33 more than yesterday. From Osijek-Baranja 3 cases, from Koprivnica-Križevci 1, and from Split-Dalmatia 1."

About the measures

"Today the second phase began, and the health care system is back. Today we will announce 4 decisions regarding measures for weddings, funerals, opening sports and children's playgrounds and limiting retention.

There will be a wider family at the funerals, but all with instructions. For weddings, the circle of people who may be present extends from the immediate family to the family and the witnesses, the ban on holding wedding ceremonies still remains. We will make a decision on how to play sports and use playgrounds. Everything will be clear from the instructions.

In regards to the measure of strict restraint in public places, it will not be extended."

About returnees, where will the tests be done?

"We have noticed developments that do not contribute to our epidemiological picture. Our goal is to increase security and the experts will find a legal framework," Beros said.

"The testing will not take effect yet. The issue of crossing the border is complex," Bozinovic added.

About schools

"It is difficult for me to answer that question. Our intention was for us to protect our health, we are not Sweden, we have 3 or 4 generations in the house. How will this be done, how will hygiene be conducted if there is no soap, we cannot answer these questions. The basic direction of our instructions is very similar to those in other countries, they are a little more detailed. If we did not succeed, we will try to clarify, we also have a ministry there. We are behind the measures," Capak said.

About truck drivers

"We are aware of no one's situation as it was. It is certain that some businesses are more affected than others. We are taking care of that. This applies to health and the police as well ... When it comes to truck drivers, we have regular contact with their representatives and exchange views. Tomorrow we will have another meeting. We are aware of the problems and difficulties. They are one of the essentials in this crisis. We are grateful to them, we are counting on them. We will democratically have the right to protest, I am sure they recognize that they have an interlocutor in this headquarters and that we are trying to find a solution that is easier for them, but due to the fact that they come from an area where the negative image is we're going to have to put it all on the table."

Does Croatia have plans for a second wave of infection?

"Croatia managed to defend itself in the first wave when there was nothing but knowledge and quick reaction. When the first cases came up, we recognized immediately and reacted quickly, establishing all the epidemic measures. Today, some 5 months after the world found out about this new virus and some have ignored it and laughed at it, we did not, so we can be pleased with what has been done. Next, all the capacities have been prepared, but if we all stick together to a certain extent, our people who have been extremely obedient, you media who have conveyed all communication, if all goes well, we will be ready."

Headmaster of a school calling for children not to attend schools?

"We have no information on this so I cannot comment. We will try to consult and see what it is about."

Opening of music and extracurricular activities?

"We have are relaxing measures in phases. We cannot release everything at once. We have finished recommendations for driving schools and music schools, this will be agreed at the headquarters. We must first see what the situation is, what is happening. For now, the epidemiological picture is extremely favorable. We have to wait a while. "

About competitions

"There is a classification of sports on the level of contact, we have to be very careful about returning to sports and competitions. We are in contact with SDUS, they have prepared the next phase, tomorrow we will have a meeting where we will consider this possibility. We've allowed sports in open spaces and open fields. Priorities are not decided by epidemiologists."

On the reactivating healthcare

"We contacted the directors, they all said that the patient response was slightly lower. Since mid-last week, calls began, and crowds we did not expect appeared.

There were crowds at triage checkpoints because you know, triage itself is essential. It took a little longer in some places, but in most institutions, it was organized in an adequate manner. I can't talk about the scope."

E-pass

"Some counties made it possible for the islands to be treated like the rest of the counties, some asked for them to be separated. After that, some counties asked for everything to be opened, however, the fact is that we have repeatedly said that that system, given the situation, will be further evaluated in the week ahead, so that the system will experience a change in terms of liberalization. "

About the nursing home, will the report be public? All the witness statements. What about the director?

"About Split. Our inspections have been made. The finding is addressed to those who need to know. The ODO in Split has launched an investigation, let the institutions do their job."

Serology testing?

"I can't tell you about the money, because it is not under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health. Serology is the future, but we have a problem. There are not enough quality serology tests. It is a much bigger problem if we get false results than not test it. Antigen tests, they are even better because they can prove you have the virus right now. Serology can be falsely negative. We are working hard to get tests done," Beros said. "We need to distinguish between several types of PCS, antigenic and serology."

"Quick tests were obtained to try, some private companies bought such tests, some people bought privately. Their reliability was very low, now it's slightly higher, but they can only be used for guidance. I'm talking about tests we don't use now for diagnostics, because with PCR we get a very early result, and the serology tests that HZJZ bought are tests that will help us determine how many people in our population were in contact with the virus. We got 100 of these tests, we bought a thousand, one hundred tests cost about 4500 kuna."

About masks. Why aren't they compulsory like in other countries?

"Every mask is good. We have already said. Plain linen, cotton, protects against the spread of droplets and aerosols and the recommendation is to use them. They are widely available and not expensive and anyone can get to them. It turns out that we have a problem, that a new focal point is opening, we can prescribe a stricter measure, which is an obligation to wear masks," Capak said.

"I am sure that in the coming period this awareness of the citizens will help to prevent the spread of the virus. We are mostly talking about recommendations and this has proven to be right. We are counting on Croatian citizens, so far we are counting on the future," Bozinovic said.

07:47: "We are very pleased with these measures. We hairdressers have learned to disinfect, gloves ... Everything is available to us on the market but at double the prices. Alcohol was before 40 kuna, now it is 90 kuna. Most of us will not raise prices because many people are out of work." Ljiljana Subasic, a beautician and pedicurist, and President of the Hairdresser's Guild told Croatian Radio.

"It is not necessary to dramatize, only to follow general instructions," said Maja Grba Bujevic.

About the statements

"We want to protect our clients. If a client does not want to sign a statement, what can we do? This statement can be signed by someone from self-isolation. We will protect ourselves as we can, but if we get sick our salon closes. How can we be legally protected?" asked Subasic

"As far as protecting the people themselves, that's why all measures have been put in place. It is impossible for everyone to have a base of people in self-isolation, this cannot be released, it is a violation of privacy. So we have introduced measures. You need to see if the client is coughing, or his nose is running. ..  Everyone will have masks, some plexiglasses in between. As for signing, it is to be known in case something happens. If it isn't signed, if an infection occurs we will publicly call the people who were in that salon to come forward," said Grba Bujevic.

07:41: About infected healthcare professionals

"303 healthcare professionals are currently infected with the virus. This is data from last night," said Grba Bujevic.

"Each patient will undergo handwashing, disinfection. His temperature will be measured. Their belongings, such as handbags will have to be disinfected, shoes will need to be cleaned. This will be done before entering the hospital," she said.

Luetic: Triage is the key

"We've been doing our job all this time. It's not just the COVID disease we've dealt with over the last two months. The clinic I work at has been 80 percent full. Now we're introducing this part we call a regular or cold program, Triage is extremely important." He did not have to perform certain procedures, now he needed to do this. All that is needed is detailed conduct in order to protect our patients and our staff.

07:34: How will patients go to hospitals?

"We have intervened in staffing conditions and during working hours and in local conditions in order to be able to function. Now we have to slowly get everything back, we will not be able to return quickly everywhere, we cannot restore the system ad hoc in the time that was before. By May 21, we may have been full to make the respiratory center in Križine operational, we have transformed the whole building into that ... Križine will remain in operation for as long as we have corona. Everything that has taken place there will have to be transferred to Firule, we also have ill health workers, some are in self-isolation, so they can't work ... The system has not worked so far only for emergency services, for example hemodialysis has worked ... It will take patience," said Grba Bujevic.

Luetic on the return of the system

"The system should be restored slowly. The amount of medical equipment needed to be secured. Almost 270 employees were infected with the virus. All possible measures should be taken in hospitals and primary care. The possibility of virus penetration in health care facilities should be reduced.

From the field comes various information about the equipment. But in the last week or so the situation has been a bit better. Part of the business was otherwise working in the afternoon. It's not something new, it's always about human capacity. There are a few people in some places, where this may not be something new in terms of organization.

07:32: According to the reports we have, with about 3,000 detours and 2,000 inspections, there are certain minor violations that have been remedied on the spot. For the most part, everyone is adhering to the measure, said Damir Trut, deputy chief of staff.

"I agree with him. There were no special events, there were some thumbnails of non-adherence measures - a little gathering, a little barbecue, but we warned everyone. Compliments for the first week," Maja Grba Bujevic said on Croatian radio.

14:30: Croatia has confirmed eight new cases of infection in the past 24 hours, and two more have died, the National Civil Protection Headquarters said on Sunday, noting that loosening measures does not end on May 11, but continues with preparations for the next phase.

14:00: National Civil Protection Headquarters press conference underway:

"I want to thank the media representatives for everything. You are doing a great job," Bozinovic said at the start.

"We have 8 new patients. 2096 cases in total," said Beros. "Two more fatalities since yesterday, bringing the total to 79." 1489 patients have recovered.

"One moment can disrupt several weeks of our work. Four Croatian nationals arrived in Croatia for 72 hours. Of these four patients, one had symptoms, had no contacts, was positive. Another passenger in the same car had no symptoms, made contact. He is positive. Two more were in the car. One has loss of smell. In our instruction to treat persons entering Croatia for 72 hours, we will add another novelty, mandatory testing," Beros said.

"From a clinical point of view, we are doing very well. Pula has no one in the hospital, everyone is well. Such situations and failure to follow measures, perhaps not in a bad way, can endanger these people. And then these people can end up in the hospital. For those who end up in the hospital, the situation is terrible. Good numbers can break down quickly, or we can bring them down to zero and be happy and enjoy the summer," said Markotic.

"8 positive as of today. We have two people in the City of Zagreb area who are family contacts, from OBZ we have three people from the same family, in Split one nurse and in Virovitica, we have cases imported from Germany.

The second phase begins tomorrow. Given that we have released close contact services, it would not be fair to omit massage and physiotherapy salons outside the hospital. I apologize to all the people of Hum na Sutli, especially those who are infected, because it was not a celebration but an imported case from Switzerland. I want to congratulate the headquarters of Krapina-Zagorje County for having solved the three infections they had. "

Will the measures be extended that expire tomorrow?

"We are likely to allow playgrounds to open, as far as recreation is concerned, the epidemiologists will give their opinion, we are considering allowing more people to weddings and funerals. We do not intend to hold the decision to ban gatherings in public places."

"There were some irregularities in the shops, but most of them were immediately addressed on the spot. We want to avoid this wherever possible," he added.

Working in marketplaces?

"We have temporarily restricted products that can be sold in marketplaces. We will talk about non-food products soon," Capak said.

Are we too late with recommendations and protocols in nursing homes?

"We made the first recommendations long before the virus entered the nursing homes. This test should be seen in the context that only 10 percent of the need can be produced. We, of course, had new information. We tested whenever there was doubt, when by definition it was needed. Later we expanded the definition, and now we test even above average to protect people in homes and not accidentally what happens outside."

About Istria

"It would be best if for a certain period of time, at least two weeks, that we do not have new cases. How would it be estimated that we are going into increasing indulgence? It is not just a matter of us. We have our people living outside .. We have said repeatedly. the coronavirus has shown that it cannot be good at one time and the others will not. The whole world will have to be cleaned up, so that we too can be sure that everything is good. If we can bring ourselves to zero, like Istria now, we can do a lot. But only when the whole world is released from the corona, will we be able to be sure that there will be no new problems," said Markotic.

About theaters and masses, where is the epidemiological reason?

"No one ever said that the mass was epidemiologically more acceptable than the theater. No one ever claimed that. If I did, I apologize. We take care that cultural events need to be introduced, the proof is that we talked about it very broadly today. We have to do it, but from the beginning, we are talking, letting go in stages, cautiously. Something needed to be different. Priorities were set by the ministries and the government. We can make epidemiological recommendations for everyone," Capak said.

About the Split nursing home: If the virus is to blame, how is such a scenario avoided in other homes?

"There are different numbers in different counties. It is not possible to give a simple answer ... The fact that an employee was in a shop and got the virus could have happened anywhere ... We are sorry that happened.

All of us now have an afterthought and it helped us a lot. We did not have some kind of recipe, we were developing this strategy on the run, you remember that after the invention of this test in Berlin, we started applying it in Croatia. From the present point of view, one can ask that," Beros said.

"I ask the elderly to be patient."

"It is very important, I would like to remind you that the extremely high risk of severe illness is a high age. In nursing homes where a lot of people live, it is extremely important that they continue to be cared for. We see a lot of older people being outside, but I have to warn them. "Would I like to expose myself in this way?" I ask the elderly to be patient, to go to the shops in a similar way to others," said Markotic.

About student exercises

"We have created an epidemiological framework for student exercises. Some colleges cannot be completed without exercises and we have made it possible," Capak said.

Is phase 4 or 5 being prepared?

"The loosening of the measures does not end on May 11. The measures will be loosened until we cover everything," Capak said.

13:14: See pictures from masses all over Croatia. Many are older, many do not wear masks. More on Index

They came to Croatia in a group of 4 people. The other two are not from our county but are from Varaždin County. The other person, who had no symptoms, was in contact with her husband and two children, and they were put in isolation," the press conference revealed.

UPDATES from May 2, 2020

15:30: ZET starts driving to Velika Gorica from Monday.

15:00: The Chief of the Civil Protection Headquarters of Istria County, Dino Kozlevac, told reporters on Saturday that, as of today, Istria County officially has no coronavirus-positive patients.

"With the sports dictionary, the first half is over, we are ready for the second half as well as possible extensions. The whole system is ready, we are entering the phase of coexistence with the virus.

The measures are still in force, and I urge citizens to continue to adhere to basic measures, such as physical distance, enhanced hygiene and the use of protective equipment," Kozlevac said at a press conference.

14:00: National Civil Protection Headquarters press conference:

In the last 24 hours, there are 3 new cases in Croatia, bringing the total to 2088 cases. There were two fatalities since yesterday.

"As of yesterday, we have 3 new cases in Croatia. We have a total of 2088 cases. Two patients died since yesterday, one born in Split in 1928 and in 1946 in Zagreb.

Today's results are great, Beros said.

One new patient is from Split-Dalmatia County, a resident of a nursing home, one is from Osijek-Baranja, who is the contact of a patient,  and one from Sibenik-Knin, also a patient.

274 health professionals were or are still positive.

"274 health professionals, 83 doctors and 105 nurses have been infected. There are 42 doctors and 124 nurses in self-isolation," Capak said.

The shops are crowded, is it because of the non-working Sunday?

"This is one situation for us. There are crowds for sure because of that. We have no indication that anything would be alarming," Bozinovic said.

"All religious communities have shown a high degree of focus on organizing holy masses as recommended by the HZJZ. We have one business day between the two non-working, so there are more crowds. We will see what the reports will show at the end of the day. Nothing is alarming," Bozinovic was asked about holding masses.

Truck drivers are wondering about self-isolation

"Truck drivers are a risk group and we need to take care of them, we are considering facilitating them. We need to have some measure on the border," Capak said.

About passes

"It can't be opened all at once. Population mobility is one of the bigger factors in the spread of the virus. Everything that goes on before and after May 11 will depend on how disciplined we all are. We all share the same interest. Let's stick to the measures," Bozinovic said.

About the Split nursing home

"I heard from the director of the Split hospital and he said everything at the conference, Beros said when asked about the oversight at the Split hospital.

"We explained very clearly where the temperature was yesterday. It is not true that it was not done, the doctor carried out daily tests for several hours that indicated a urinary infection and after most of the antibiotics the temperature subsided. The procedures were adequate and timely. There is no reason to doubt inspections were found. Everything was in line with what needed to be done," Beros said.

"Now, whenever a person gets a temperature in their home, they immediately have a test taken," Capak added.

13:44: To date, there are no new cases in Sisak-Moslavina County. "Out of 32 patients from the area of Sisak-Moslavina County, there are five more positive patients," the county said.

13:11: A plane carrying 122 European citizens will fly to Zagreb today, including 73 Croats, Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman announced on Saturday in front of MVEP.

13:10: There are no new cases in Dubrovnik-Neretva County in the last 24 hours. All samples sent for analysis on Friday are negative, as are the remaining 59 samples from Thursday. We have 7 new recoveries, or a total of 64.

12:44: As of yesterday, there are no new cases in Zagreb. The total number of cases is 466. 7196 have been tested and 351 have been cured.

12:43: "Everyone in the Zenta home has been tested, one resident is positive. Two employees have been in self-isolation. The home is supervised and we test users more often than the other population."

08:00:"We all agree that this is one of the most unusual viruses we have come across," Markotic said on Nova TV last night. It is a new strain of coronaviruses that otherwise move among animals. Although bats and then the pangolin are initially blamed initially for carrying the virus, Professor Markotic said that the latest research says that raccoon dogs also did. New symptoms have also been discovered - diarrhea, severe headache, loss of taste and smell. Cases from Croatia confirm that you can have it in your body for a very long time. "For now, as far as I know, for about 55 days it can be kept. It's good that all these people are practically symptom-free, but still have the virus," Markotic said. More on Index.

The Split State Attorney's Office is opening an investigation at the infected Nursing Home

Health Minister Vili Beros and Social Policy Minister Vesna Bedekovic presented a consolidated inspection report of their ministries at the Nursing Home in Split, according to which there were no omissions in the treatment of health professionals, and workers and users of the House adhered to epidemiological instructions. However, Beroš added, they were informed that, based on the order of the Split State Attorney's Office, certain documents were exempted and reconnaissance was conducted in the home itself.

Bedekovic and Capak pointed out that only new users are currently admitted to the nursing homes, with the decision of the social welfare center on the need for urgent accommodation and that all of them be tested beforehand. This decision also applies to private homes.

Bozinovic: We have milder measures than some countries, and better results than most

Measures in Croatia have been milder and results are better than in most countries, Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic said on Friday.

"We have a controllable epidemiological situation and the fact that we have instituted restrictive measures at the right time. These measures are not as restrictive as in some other countries, without having to go far from Croatia to compare the measures," Bozinovic said.

Bozinovic reported that the situation 0f borders was being discussed at European Union level.

"In the coming days, the European Commission should come up with some thoughts on how to return to normal, when the epidemiological situation allows it. We must be aware that this depends on national decisions. In some ways, borders within the Schengen area have been raised. This is all part of a coherent effort at the  EU level," he said.

Markotic: Temperature alone cannot be the only reason to suspect a coronavirus

The Head of Infectious Diseases Clinic Fran Mihaljevic commented on the reason why the infection of the coronavirus was not suspected in the residents of the Nursing Home in Split because of the temperature.

She noted that she has been treating urinary infections clinically and therefore knows that the elderly population is particularly prone to fever, but that it does not have to occur.

"To get the temperature, several immune components must be secreted. Older people simply do not have the ability to initiate these fever mechanisms. There may not be a temperature at all in elderly patients. It is quite common to have occasional temperatures. During the day they may or may not have. Temperature may not be the only reason to suspect he has a coronavirus. None of them had severe respiratory symptoms," explained Markotic.

Minister Vili Beros also followed.

"These temperatures were of another genesis, the doctor did examinations and it turned out to be a urinary infection. They did not predominate respiratory problems and therefore not all were tested," the minister explained.
