There is only one place to be for Croatian wine lovers this weekend.
Today at noon, the tenth annual Zagreb VINOcom, the Zagreb International Festival of Wine and Culinary Arts, opens at the Hotel Esplanade.
The festival is open today, Friday November 27, 2015, and tommorrow Saturday 28th from 12 till 8pm.
Over the ten years VINOcom has grown tremendously under the guidance of Prof. Ivan Dropuljić, so that this weekends festivities will include over three hundred exhibitors and nearly ten thousand visitors are expected.
There will be wine, there will be food, all the craft beer producers in Croatia will be there, and there will be two parallel tracks of workshops dedicated to specific topics, such as 'Different Istria' by the good folks of Taste Of Croatia, and even a workshop on Croatian Craft Beers by the Beer Sommelier Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish.
The entry price is a very reasonable 100 Kuna for a whole day, and if you just want to attend a workshop you do not even need to buy an exhibition ticket. But why would you not? Just about every Croatian wine and beer can be tasted and many importers will be showing off wines from other countries. Plus there will be the food, for a complete oeno-gastro experience.
If that is not enough, many Zagreb bars and restaurants are adding their own after hour festivities, so the fun can continue late into the night.
So Živjeli, and enjoy the weekend.
