Gourmet & Wine Lovers App Launched in Istria

Istrian County Tourist Board presented a mobile app which brings the entire Istrian wine and gastro offer to your phone

Istria was recently voted he best olive region in the world by Flos Olei, and the County Tourist Board is now taking the complete oil, wine and gastro offer one step closer to the end users. On March 13, 2016. Istrian county prefect Valter Flego, mayor of Pula Boris Miletić and the director of Istria Tourist Board Denis Ivošević presented a brand new mobile app Gourmet & Wine Lovers Istria.

The idea to present the very best Istria has to offer in terms of wine and gastronomy took a long time to put into practice, but we now have a very important project in the field of digital marketing and a selling tool. It is an application that offers the most attractive gastro features of our region best restaurants and taverns, wine makers, oil producers, honey producers, dairy farms, hotels, private accommodation...This new application offers just over twenty top-notch gastro itineraries created in order to entice the visitors to explore some added Istrian experiences“ said Denis Ivošević, Istria Tourist Board director.

So, who made the cut and who appears in the app? All the producers and restauranteurs that were recognized by leading opinion makers and eno-gastro specialists and the application will be constantly upgraded in order to include up and coming restaurants and producers.

The application has divided Istria into 6 smaller areas and each of them presents several itineraries that connect the most important Wine and Gastro locations in the area. All of those offered itineraries have a different name, depending on which micro area you have selected so you can opt for Four lands for four experiences, Veli Jože, Muscat of the Momnjan muscateers, Teran etc.

Once the user downloads this free app, it will automatically locate the user and offer the nearest available itinerary and all producers located nearby.

„Istria is not just green and blue, it is not just the sea, it is a combination of many things including great homesteads, olive oil producers, prosciutto makers, restaurants good and hard working people. The aim was to connect the very best of Istria and offer it through a digital platform. The key here is the connection to the mainland, our coast, tourism, agriculture and new content.  This app is a living organism and it will be constantly upgraded to include new facilities and producers, Our task is to create, connect and offer content for tourists“ Istrian county prefect Valter Flego stated.

Mayor of Pula Boris Miletić congratulated Istrian Tourist Board on the new application noting it was created according to the latest world trends and stating it will give them new reasons to visit: „This application will be the increase of spending and consumption, and as service providers we cannot allow ourselves to stand still. We have to follow trends and create them if we can“ Miletić concluded.   

Application will be available for download in the next few days.
