A new venue in the heart of Zagreb will work all night long and is located in Tkalčićeva.
A club, coffee shop and restaurant – one of each on the three floors of a building at the corner of Tkalčićeva and Krvavi Most streets. Goran Maras, the owner, said that the idea was shaping up in his mind for 20 years. And now, residents of Zagreb and tourists will have a one-stop location for dinner and for partying well after midnight, reports Večernji List on July 5, 2016.
“A night rock-club, which will be opened in August, will be named Alcatraz, because I am launching it with my friend Ivan Milinković, who made the Alcatraz club in Preradovićeva Street a popular place of Zagreb's night life. Milinković helped create a new look for Alcatraz at the new location while maintaining its identity. Another interesting fact is that we have used an old WV Beetle to make an area for DJ“, said Maras.
The walls will be adorned with recognizable faces and objects from the 1970s and 1980s, making it a kind of a museum of rock culture. The club, located at the underground level, will offer more than 500 types of beer.
The snack bar with a terrace lies on the ground floor, and the owner has come up with the name Confusion Buddha Bar. It promises to have a particularly interesting menu, at least judging by the interior – details are brought in from all over the world. Most of these unique pieces come from India and Thailand. Maras said that they had picked this name in order to send a message to the increasing number of tourists from the East that they are familiar with the culture and respect it.
Meanwhile, the restaurant All Saints, which is decorated in Spanish and Mediterranean style, will offer local, European cuisine. Guests will probably immediately notice statues of saints above the dining tables, starting from St. Francis to the statue of the Virgin Mary, and will be surprised by the fantastic, original wall-details from the Spanish bullfight.
“The kitchen is open, so everyone will be able to see what is going on, and we will offer themed menus with an emphasis on the Mediterranean cuisine, but also the local cuisine of our grandmothers”, said the owner, adding that he hopes to contribute to the tourist offer of the city.
