Inspiration for young Croatian handball players on July 6, 2016, as Ivano Balic, arguably the greatest player of all time, gets down to teaching at the annual Balic and Metlicic Handball Camp in Jelsa on the island of Hvar.
It is one of the most popular sports in Croatia, and when the opportunity to learn from the very best comes around, it is not hard to understand why the Balic and Metlicic Handball Training Camp in Jelsa is so popular every year.
Two stars of the Croatian handball scene, Academy Balic & Metlicic was founded in 2007 by two of the most decorated Croatian handball players of all time, Ivano Balic and Petar Metlicic. Indeed, Olympic and World champion Balic is considered by many to be the best player of all time by many in the sport.
In a commendable gesture to the sport which gave them their success, the duo hold a training camp each summer on the island of Hvar, in Jelsa. Jelsa, with its excellent sporting facilities and temperate climate, has a long tradition of hosting sporting events and trainings, and the training camp is an opportunity to highlight that potential.
