The EXIT team, organizers of the award-winning EXIT and Sea Dance Festivals, have teamed up with creative industries and tourism in Istria to announce a new festival in the Croatian town of Umag.

The founder and director of Exit, Dusan Kovacevic, recalled in a press conference a few nights ago that the first EXIT event after the wars of the nineties brought together young people from across the region who were not burdened by the past and who are interested exclusively for the future.

"There is already a decade-long link between Vojvodina and Istria and there is excellent cooperation in economic and cultural terms, and we believe that this project will represent the crown of this cooperation. Linking the region is part of our social mission, and the basis on which EXIT is established. This has included Umag among cities in EXIT's regional festival network, which will further strengthen our goal - and that is the positioning of the region of South Eastern Europe as one of the most attractive destinations for youth and tourism with festivals in the world."

Their new phase of this continuous mission of regional networking started in 2014, when the first Sea Dance Festival in Budva was organized, and later the 2015 Revolution Festival in Timisoara. These festivals are at the very beginning achieving great success, as Sea Dance already has proclaimed the best European festival in the category of up to 40,000 people a day.

EXIT festival itself has won awards for best European festival with the "Festival Oscar" by the European and UK Festival Awards (2007 and 2013), as well as the most prestigious European tourism awards “The Best European Destinations (2016)”. EXIT has also been named one of the best festivals in the world by eminent media such as CNN, The New York Times, The Guardian, Vogue, Daily Mail, Ministry of Sound and many others.

Ronald Korotaj, CEO of Istraturist from Umag, pointed out that "The connection between Istria and Vojvodina has been very strong for a long time. We have a common culture, thinking and openness. The EXIT team will strengthen this link with music, people, atmosphere and all the things that carry such a festival ".

As announced at the conference, the EXIT Team will organize the new festival in Umag, opening the summer season in late May 2017, while all the details will be known in the coming months.
