The Fine Shopping Destination - Garderoba

By 23 April 2017

The Garderoba project is a rare example of an investment in interior design and furniture, thanks to which it will surely be designated as a top notch authentic designer destination in Zagreb

Friday, April 21, 2017 saw the opening of the long-awaited Garderoba (wardrobe) on Martićeva Street, in an area known as Design District. This concept store brought to Zagreb Scandinavian fashion whose sophisticated minimalism and multifunctional style is known far and wide. Here you can meet the biggest Danish fashion classic – By Malene Birger, as well as Baum und Pferdgarten and Rodebjer, but also the opportunity to see in vivo (and purchase) entire collections of the famous Croatian designer Ivana Omazić.

Both Omazić and the Scandinavian brands base their attractiveness less on brand image and more on aesthetics, quality materials and multifunctional design for women from adolescents to mature years. What is probably most important, prices here are not “pumped up.” The design of the showroom Garderoba also fosters the philosophy of slow-shopping, an innovative model of shopping, brought to Zagreb by Garderoba owner Ana Ivančić.

“Collections of Scandinavian brands in Garderoba are of universal character, while it is interesting they are made by female designers. Croatia and Zagreb has many women dressing in their comfort zone, due to a lack of choice and opportunity to try something new. And a main quality of Scandi-style is layering, offering an unlimited number of layer combinations. A short dress for an adolescent can be great as a tunic over pants for a more mature woman,” said Ana Ivančić, the owner and idea generator behind Garderoba.

Interior design is the work of Biro Studio, design by the already well known product-design Grupa. Garderoba is furnished with pieces from Prostoria and Baluna chandeliers. Graphic design is the work of Lana Cavar. The Garderoba project is a rare example of an investment in interior design and furniture, thanks to which it will surely be designated as a top notch authentic designer destination in Zagreb.

Garderoba will offer entire collections of the listed designers starting from the 2017/2018 fall/winter collections, to be joined by Ganni and Designers Remix. Starting in May, visitors will also be able to browse the Pre-Fall jewellery collection by Swedish designer Cornelia Webb, exceptionally ergonomic jewellery whose aesthetics should interest women who love a slightly richer style.
