Aleksandra Dojčinović, one of the most well-known names on the Croatian fashion scene, keeps fascinating her audience by selecting unique places in Zagreb as backdrops to showcase her latest collections.
After the Revival Hall of the National Home in the Upper City and the Croatian State Archives, Aleksandra chose Zagreb’s Main Railway Station as the location to present her newest, most luxurious collection yet.
Aleksandra took her guests on a fashion journey from Zagreb West Station to the Main Railway Station, a place where numerous journeys have started and ended ever since it was built in 1890.
Various celebrities and trendsetters attended this unique event, including Ms Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, President of the Republic of Croatia.
The journey is meant to raise awareness of the problems that railway transport has been facing over the past years, and, in addition to the Station becoming a fashion runway for the first time, this was also Aleksandra’s first train journey in Croatia. This joint story shows the durability and persistence of both companies in their efforts to fulfil their dreams in Croatia.
The symbolism of travelling is connected to the fashion designer’s striving to find something new and present something better to fashion lovers in Croatia and abroad with each new collection.
The avant-garde new collection breaks away from her previous designs and it is definitely her best work yet. Complex materials, cocktail dresses inspired by Charleston, asymmetric and voluminous skirts and dresses, coats, and the star of the collection - a masculine-chic suit - promise one of the most visually appealing winters yet.
