The aim is to raise the quality of tourist services to a higher level.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 14th of February, 2018, after decades of a total lack of investment and state deprivation for one of the most attractive locations in Baško Polje, which was formerly a military resort. "Club Adriatic", otherwise the owner of these real estates, has ended up in the hands of the Swiss Immo Invest partner, headquartered in Zürich, which offered a price of 54 million kuna for the purchase in a bid, more specifically 6.4 million kuna higher than the initial price.
A large, high-end tourism investment and project awaits the area close to Baška Voda and Promajna in Makarska, in the hands of a construction and tourist company run by two Croats, brothers Džek and Frenk Djordić.
As Slobodna Dalmacija reports, the investors in question are professional business people who have lived and worked in Switzerland for a long time, in which they already own three hotels that they have built from scratch themselves, before handing them over to the Hilton group, this is otherwise their first tourism investment in Croatia.
"We plan to build a 4 and 5 star tourist resort in Baško Polje, which will employ about 500 workers and have a total of about 1.5 thousand beds. We estimate a total investment of around 150 million euro and we believe it will be realised over the next few years, depending on how quickly we will handle all of the required documentation. We've not entered this business from any speculative lendings, nor will we sell anything in Baško Polje. Our goal is to raise the quality of the tourist service to a high level. As far as this year is concerned, we'll continue to operate under contracts that have already been concluded and prepare all the necessary investment documentation,'' stated Džek Djordić, one of the two brothers, who are also planning to build and hotel in Varaždin with 120 rooms in the future.
Otherwise, the investment regards 280,000 square meters of very attractive, scenic coastal area in Baško Polje, which is currently a two star hotel named "Alem", as well as a campsite. There are currently 306 rooms in operation, and the new owner has 60 days to sign the contract and meet all of the required conditions.
