Famous British group finally coming to Zagreb.
One of the most famous mainstream groups of all time, the British soul/pop legends Simply Red, will perform as headliners on 22 June on the first day of the Zagreb Calling festival. Mick Hucknall and his band will perform at Šalata in Zagreb for the first time, and during the two-hour show will play the greatest hits from their more than three decades long career. In addition to Simply Red, two well-known names from the Croatian music scene will share the festival stage the same night: Natali Dizdar and Jinx, reports tportal.hr on March 1, 2016.
After two sold-out concerts in Pula, it was about time to finally welcome Simply Red in Zagreb. Exactly thirty years after they presented their soulful version of the Valentine Brothers' classic Money's Too Tight To Mention, the band returns to Croatia as part of their world tour, performing all the most important songs from their rich repertoire, including the latest studio album Big Love.
In 2010, Mick Hucknall decided to leave the world of music for a while and devote himself to raising his daughter. "I was raised by my father and I wanted to be as good a parent to my daughter as he was to me. Now she is seven years old and she can go on tour with us", said Hucknall ahead of the new tour. That was a sign that Simply Red were getting back "on the road", in great mood and with a fantastic set list full of major hits.
On the first day of the Zagreb Calling Festival, Simply Red will present the best of their music. Over 60 million albums have not been sold by accident, and the audience can look forward to hits like: "Something Got Me Started", "Stars", "Holding Back The Years", "If You Don't Know Me By Now", and many others.
The headliner of the second day of the festival will be the great new British soul star John Newman. Other performers of the second day of the festival will be announced later.
