Spring is Here and Croatian Mr. Weather Says to Prepare for Above Average Temperatures

By 19 March 2016

Long term weather forecasts show possible heat waves even before summer.

Croiatia's favourite weather man, Zoran Vakula is the go to guy for all weather related topics, and on March 19, 2016 he published the first long-term forecast for the upcoming months.

According to Mr. Vakula, in the days ahead we can expect sunny and dry weather, especially along the coast with temperatures up to 18 degrees. In other words, there's no excuse not to spend this weekend out in the open, exploring Croatia's natural wonders.

Mr. Vakula also talked about the long-term forecasts for Croatia for this summer, and since half the country is living from and off tourism, everyone is anxious to hear whether we will have a long and dry summer. Even though long-term forecasts are not always reliable, when it comes to average expected temperatures three months in advance, they are 80% accurate and for the next period they are showing above average temperatures all the way to August. expected temperatures are higher than the ones we had in the warm climate periods between 1981 and 2010: "Don't be surprised if we start issuing heat wave warnings even before the summer. It is too early to start talking about temperature records but it is quite likely that they will happen". Vakula concluded. And we should believe him. After all, this is probably the only weatherman with his very own song.
