Firefighters from Omiš and Makarska are trying to contain a wildfire that broke out earlier tonight
A forest fire broke out around 8 in the evening in the area of Lokva Rogoznica near Omiš, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on October 24, 2017.
Even though the area has seen significant precipitation amounts only yesterday, with more than 50 litres of rain recorded per square metre, strong bura wind helped spread the flames into a fiery front measuring a kilometre in length.
Fire brigades from the area of Omiš and Makarska are currently fighting the blaze. They reported that houses and other objects of importance are not in danger at the moment.
