CEIZ Index for August Suggests Croatia's Real GDP Grew 2.4%

ZAGREB, October 20, 2019 - Based on the movements of its CEIZ index, the Institute of Economics, Zagreb (EIZ) expects Croatia's real GDP to rise by 2.4% in the third quarter of 2019 compared with the same quarter of 2018 and by 0.6% compared with the second quarter of 2019. Croatia's Survey Unemployment Rate Down to 6.1%

ZAGREB, October 18, 2019 - A total of 1.678 million people were gainfully employed in Croatia in the second quarter of 2019, about 7,000 more than at the same time in 2018, while the number of the unemployed declined by 28,000 to 108,000, bringing the survey unemployment rate down to 6.1%, a labour force survey carried out by the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS) shows. Croatian Post Acquires Locodels Startup from Zagreb Entrepreneur

Croatian Post (Hrvatska pošta, HP) reported on Thursday that they have acquired the 100 percent share in the company Locodels, owned by the Croatian entrepreneur Stevica Kuharski. The completion of the sale is expected to happen before the end of November, it is reported. Croatian Post is, however, not revealing the value of the transaction, the Croatian media reported. Planned Public Sector Pay Rise to Cost 1.2 Billion Kuna Annually

ZAGREB, October 17, 2019 - Finance Minister Zdravko Marić said on Wednesday that the planned pay rise for state administration and public sector employees would cost between 1.1 billion and 1.2 billion kuna annually.
