Plenković: Decision on Uljanik Will Be Rational and Responsible

Finance Minister Not Surprised with Economic Growth Slowdown

ZAGREB, February 28, 2019 - Finance Minister Zdravko Marić said on Wednesday the government had anticipated the slowing down of economic growth in the last quarter of 2018, adding that industrial production and high imports gave cause for concern, while the growth of consumption and investment reflected good economic sentiment. Croatia's GDP Up in Q4, Rising at Slower Pace

ZAGREB, February 27, 2019 - Croatia's GDP grew by 2.3% in the last quarter of 2018, thus decelerating in comparison to Q3 when it grew at a rate of 2.8% year on year, the national statistical office (DZS) reported on Wednesday. The DZS first estimates of the GDP growth in the last quarter of 2018 were actually lower than expected by eight economic analysts polled by Hina, whose average estimate was 2.6%. Brodosplit Says Its Offer for Uljanik Contains Guarantees

ZAGREB, February 27, 2019 - Brodosplit's offer of strategic partnership to the Uljanik shipbuilding group contains all the necessary guarantees, the shipyard said on Tuesday after Economy Minister Darko Horvat said the strategic partner must provide clear guarantees that it was willing to finance Uljanik's restructuring. Croatian Beekeepers Granted Financial Aid

ZAGREB, February 26, 2019 - Croatian beekeepers will have 3.2 million euro annually at their disposal as part of financial assistance in the period from 2020 to 2022, according to a draft assistance scheme prepared by the agriculture ministry. The document has been put up for public consultation until 6 March. ZAGREB, February 26, 2019 - A hearing in the process of determining preconditions to launch bankruptcy proceedings at the 3. Maj shipyard that was scheduled for Tuesday at Rijeka Commercial Court, was adjourned until March 12, when it should be known whether workers at the dock will receive their unpaid wages, otherwise bankruptcy seems inevitable.
