Dubrovnik Valamar Reshuffle Completed, Investments from Autumn

February the 3rd, 2022 - The Dubrovnik Valamar portfolio reshuffle has been completed, and a new investment cycle is set to begin this autumn, following the main summer tourist season. As Poslovni Dnevnik/Marija Crnjak writes, Valamar Riviera announced on Tuesday that a transaction with Imperial Riviera was concluded on the last day of January, on the transfer of the Dubrovnik Valamar portfolio to Imperial. Remediation of Sovjak Pit in Viškovo to Begin by End of Year

ZAGREB, 2 Feb 2022 - The remediation of the Sovjak pit near Rijeka, worth about HRK 390 million, is planned to start by the end of the year. It is estimated there is currently about 152,000 cubic meters of waste in the pit, making this one of the largest and most complex environmental protection projects in the country. The Sovjak pit is a natural karst sinkhole that has been used since 1949 for the uncontrolled and improper disposal of hazardous waste. It is estimated that about 250,000 cubic meters of various waste were disposed of in the pit by the 1990s.…

National Security Committee: Different Opinions on Attack on Government Headquarters

Opposition Agrees Đerek's Allegations are Reason Enough for Government to Fall

ZAGREB, 2 Feb 2022 - Parliamentary opposition parties on Wednesday mostly agreed with President Zoran Milanović's statement that if only half of what whistleblower Maja Đerek had said about the Državne Nekretnine state property management company was true, it was reason enough for the government to fall. Croatian Scientists Discover New Therapy for Acute Myocardial Infarction

ZAGREB, 2 Feb 2022 - Slobodan Vukičević, a member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU), and his associates have discovered a new therapy for acute myocardial infarction and published an article in the prestigious scientific journal Nature Communications, HAZU announced in a statement on Wednesday. Opposition Says Changes to Laws on Judiciary Fake Reform

RBA Analysts Say 2021 Growth Projection of 9% Subject to Positive Risks

ZAGREB, 2 Feb 2022 - Raiffeisenbank Austria (RBA) analysts estimate that Croatia's economy grew by 9.2% in 2021, a projection that is subject to positive risks. With regards 2022, they are sticking to their GDP growth estimate of 4.4%, according to the bank's quarterly report RBAnalize published on Wednesday.
