Croatia Logs 66 COVID-19 Deaths, 7,385 New Infections

ZAGREB, 1 Feb 2022 - In the past 24 hours Croatia has logged 7,385 new COVID cases whereas another 66 people have died as a consequence, the national COVID response team reported on Tuesday. There are currently 2,052 hospitalised COVID patients, including 183 on ventilators. There are 54,773 active cases in the country and 28,890 people are self-isolating, while 7,196 have recovered in the past 24 hours. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, 944,552 cases of coronavirus infection have been identified and 13,893 people have died of the disease. EIB: 73% of Croatian Citizens Thinking About Buying Electric or Hybrid Car

ZAGREB, 1 Feb 2022 - A climate survey by the European Investment Bank (EIB) has indicated that 73% of Croatians say they would opt for a hybrid or electric vehicle next time they purchase a vehicle, whereas 27% say they would choose a petrol/diesel car. The EIB Climate Survey 2021-2022 shows that older citizens prefer an electric vehicle whereas younger citizens prefer a petrol or diesel car. The survey explores people's views on climate change in a rapidly changing world and focuses on citizens' individual behaviour and the actions they are taking to combat climate change. HZJZ: Protests Against COVID Rules Just Put Pressure on Health Workers

ZAGREB, 1 Feb 2022 - Ahead of protests against COVID rules to be held on Tuesday outside public health institutes around the country, officials from the national institute have said the protestors are just feigning care for the health of children and are in fact just putting pressure on health care workers. HZJZ Shortens Quarantine for All Close Contacts of COVID-19 Patients to 7 Days

ZAGREB, 1 Feb 2022 - The Croatian Public Health Institute (HZJZ) on Monday issued revised protocols for persons infected with COVID-19 and their close contacts, shortening the period of quarantine to seven days for all close contacts and not just persons who have been vaccinated and have recovered from the infection.
