Exhibition by Famous British Sculptor Richard Deacon to Open in Split Tomorrow

October 18, 2021 - One of the top British abstract sculptors, Richard Deacon, will be present for the opening of his exhibition in the Kula Gallery in Split. Cravat Day Marked in Zagreb

ZAGREB, 18 Oct 2021 - World Cravat Day was marked on Monday in Zagreb's main square, with the ceremony involving the Cravat regiment guard and the regiment commander decorating the monument of Ban Josip Jelačić with a red necktie. The ceremony, which was organized by the Academia Cravatica, attracted a large audience of citizens. 30 Years of Minefield War Crime Commemorated in Lovas

ZAGREB, 18 Oct 2021 - The people of Lovas on Monday laid wreaths and lit candles at a monument to 21 locals forced into a minefield by Serb paramilitaries and the former Yugoslav Army 30 years ago today. On 18 October 1991, a few days after entering Lovas, aggressor forces chose a group of 51 residents and forced them into a minefield, where 21 were killed and 14 wounded. Businesses in Bakery Industry Report Revenue of HRK 4.5 bn in 2020

ZAGREB, 18 Oct 2021 - In 2020, there were 914 businesses in Croatia's grain-based food industry, and they employed over 15,000 workers and earned HRK 4.5 billion, according to data provided by the Finance Agency (FINA). Those businesses, specialized in producing grain-based foods that may include bread, cakes, pies, pastries, and similar foods, saw a 2% drop in the headcount to 15,121. The bakery industry's revenues of HRK 4.5 billion contracted by 6.1% compared to 2019, and its expenditure also dropped by 4.5% to HRK 4.34 billion. Croatian Police Burn Over 2 Tonnes of Narcotics

ZAGREB, 18 Oct 2021 - More than two tonnes of narcotics seized in police operations was burnt in a factory in the eastern town of Našice on Monday, including two tonnes of marijuana and hashish, 28 kilos of amphetamines, 15 kilos of cocaine, and 12 kilos of heroin, with a street value of about €9.5 million. Milanović and Pahor Unveil Monument to Slovenian Poet Prešern in Zagreb

ZAGREB, 18 Oct 2021 - Croatian and Slovenian Presidents, Zoran Milanović and Borut Pahor, unveiled a monument to a Slovenian poet, France Prešeren in Zagreb's Bundek Park, on Monday after they had unveiled a bust to one of the leaders of the Croatian National Revival, Ljudevit Gaj in Ljubljana earlier in the day. Božinović: COVID Vaccine Best Prevention Against Serious Illness
