About 2,000 Homeless People in Croatia, 10,000 More at Risk

ZAGREB, 12 October, 2021 - There are about 2,000 homeless people in Croatia and half of them live in Zagreb, while about 10,000 persons living in abject poverty are at risk of becoming homeless, civil society organisations warned on Monday. The organisations set up a stall outside Zagreb's central train station to mark the World Homeless Day and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty and Social Exclusion. HZJZ: Number of Deaths Up by More than 5,000 in 2020

ZAGREB, 12 October, 2021 - The number of deaths in Croatia in 2020 was by more than 5,000 higher than in 2019, and the fourth leading cause of death was COVID-19, which claimed 4,478 lives, the Croatian Public Health Institute (HZJZ) said on Monday. A total of 57,023 people died in Croatia last year, which is 5,229 more people than in 2019, the HZJZ said. The most frequent cause of death in 2020 were diseases of the circulatory system, with 22,817 deaths, followed by cancer, which caused 13,508 deaths. Minister Butkovic: Over 25 bn Kuna Currently Invested in Transport Infrastructure

ZAGREB, 12 October, 2021 - Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Oleg Butković said on Monday that current investments in Croatia's transport infrastructure amounted to more than HRK 25 billion, of which those in Osijek-Baranja County totalled more than HRK 1.5 billion. October 11, 2021 - United Airlines flights to Dubrovnik have been extended until the end of October next year!
