President Says Investigation in JANAF Case Not Clear

ZAGREB, September 19, 2020 - President Zoran Milanovic said on Saturday, in a comment on the JANAF corruption scandal, that he did not understand why JANAF CEO Dragan Kovacevic and businessman Kreso Petek were not arrested at the moment when Kovacevic received a bribe of HRK 1.96 million from Petek.  "I don't understand why this did not stop at the moment when it was found out through surveillance that someone was giving someone two million kuna in bribes. Majority of MPs Support CoE Convention on Safety, Security and Service in Sport

ZAGREB, September 18, 2020 - Members of the Croatian Parliament on Friday supported the Council of Europe's Convention on an Integrated Approach to Safety, Security and Service at Football Matches and Other Sports Events.  Presenting the document, the interior ministry's State-Secretary, Zarko Katic, said that incidents occurred too frequently at football matches as a consequence of poor security management at stadiums. Three Croatian MPs Stripped of Immunity from Criminal Prosecution

National Council for Pensioners and the Elderly to Be Established

ZAGREB, Sept 17, 2020 - The government on Thursday accepted an agreement on the establishment of the National Council for Pensioners and the Elderly, an advisory body that discusses the issues of pension and health insurance, social policy and the protection of the elderly and that submits opinions to the government.
