Windrose Airllines will be flying between the two capitals twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, until March 21 next year. October 4, 2020 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as flydubai cancels Zagreb for October, November, and most of December... for now. Croatian Aviation reports that just a few hours after Emirates canceled the Dubai - Zagreb service for all of 2021, its partner company flydubai made changes to its Zagreb route, too. Recall, Emirates flew to Zagreb in the summer, and flydubai in the winter. The same schedule was announced for this year as well.  However, Emirates canceled the Dubai - Zagreb route for this year, but the possibility of flydubai returning on the same route at the…

Camp Zagreb, Natural Lakeside Heaven a Short Connection to the City

October 4, 2020 - A visit to Camp Zagreb, a rather delightful lakeside accommodation alternative for Croatia's capital in Sveta Nedelja, a short shuttle ride from the city centre. Camping on the Adriatic has long been a holiday of choice for hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, and the camping facilities - particularly in Istria - are plentiful and improving year by year. Head inland, however, and camping options are a lot more sparse. But when they are good, they are REALLY good, as I discovered on my first visit to Camp Zagreb, located idyllically on a lake in…

Continental Croatia Trains: Inland Opens Up With Green Travel

October 3, 2020 - With charter airlines in a state of flux and Croatia Railways beginning a renewal of their fleet in Slavonia, are continental Croatia trains the eco-friendly and best way to unlock the inland's amazing potential? Everything changes. Nothing stays the same. Even before 2020 arrived, lifestyles and trends were headed in new directions. Eco-tourism and agro-tourism were two of the fastest-growing areas within the travel sector, this behaviour change a response to concerns about the environment. And nowhere in the country stands better poised to take advantage of this interest than continental Croatia.Impossibly pretty Zagorje - the…

Zadar Tourist Board Adapts Website for People with Disabilities

October 3, 2020 - The Zadar Tourist Board and the Administrative Department for EU Projects of the City of Zadar have carried out the complex task of adapting the zadar.travel website for people with disabilities, and promotional materials in Braille will soon be printed. HRTurizam writes that the Zadar restaurants adapted for people with disabilities or the routes most suitable for people with mobility difficulties are only a part of the new content on the Zadar Tourist Board website, and people with disabilities can access the same and a wealth of other information on their computers. Thus, the zadar.travel website is…

October 3, 2020 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Emirates cancels Zagreb for 2021. Croatian Aviation reports that Emirates, a world-famous airline based in Dubai, has canceled the Dubai-Zagreb route for all of 2021! The company planned to operate on the Dubai-Zagreb route in this year's summer flight schedule. Still, due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the start of operations on this route was first postponed, and then it was completely canceled for this year. Emirates then left daily flights on this route on sale for the 2021 summer flight schedule, but that too has now changed. Namely,…

Sibenik-Knin and Zadar Counties No Longer on Germany's Red List

October 1, 2020 -  Sibenik-Knin and Zadar counties are no longer on Germany's red list for travel.  HRTurizam reports that last night, the German Robert Koch Institute revised the list of countries that are on the red list, that is, high-risk countries for travel during the coronavirus pandemic. What is important to point out is that Sibenik-Knin and Zadar counties are no longer on the red list, so it is now possible to travel to those Croatian counties. The following counties are still on the red list in Germany: Brod-Posavina, Dubrovnik-Neretva, Lika-Senj, Pozega-Slavonia, Split-Dalmatia, and Virovitica-Podravina. Declaring an area at…

HeadOnEast 2020 in Osijek as Hedonism Returns to Slavonia

October 1, 2020 - After its stunning introduction during Days of Croatian Tourism in 2019, HeadOnEast 2020 kicks off tomorrow - 3 glorious days of hedonism in Osijek.  One of the best tourism initiatives of 2019 - at least in my humble opinion - was the decision to hold the annual Days of Croatian Tourism event in eastern Croatia for the first time. The populr event, where all the movers and shakers from the official Croatian tourism industry converge for three days of awards, networking and socialising after a typically busy tourist season, is traditionally held in attractive coastal locations…

October 1, 2020 - Continuing our tour of Croatia's miracle town in the TCN One Minute Ludbreg series, a visit to the Kezman winery and President of the Trsek Wine Association, Branko Kezman. One of the joys of exploring the wineries of Croatia is that - in addition to the wines - you have the chance to share and experience the private dreams of individual winemakers. There are so many different approaches to wine making and wine presentation, even within the producers of the Ludbreg wine road. And if you are looking for a taste of authentic rustic living, then…

Studying the realized trips this summer, Booking.com revealed that the average distance traveled by passengers from Croatia traveling June - August decreased by 56% compared to the same period last year, which is slightly less than the global average of 63%.
