How Much Does Average Family Need for a Week on Croatian Coast?

July the 30th, 2022 - Just how much does the average family need to set aside financially for a comfortable week spent on the Croatian coast? As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, summer on the Croatian coast is the ultimate experience for very many foreign visitors to our shores, but that experience really does come with a hefty price tag, especially in the Dalmatian city of Zadar. Zadar, at least according to the latest research, is the most expensive city in the Republic of Croatia, as reported by N1. According to the data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (CBS), an average…

Which is Quicker, Split to Dubrovnik via Peljesac Bridge or Neum Corridor?

July 29, 2022 - After the euphoria of the opening of the Peljesac Bridge subsides, an intriguing look at the quickest way from Split to Dubrovnik. It has been quite a week with the opening of the Peljesac Bridge, and it was a true privilege to have attended the event. So much pride at Croatia finally being connected, so much pride in an excellent construction project that was reported around the world - I personally received messages about the opening from California to Malaysia.  The bridge will certainly have an impact in a number of ways, including much-improved access to…

Croatia Airlines Spokesperson Talks About Summer Schedule, Results So Far

July 29, 2022 - Croatia Airlines spokesperson Davor Janušić talks about this year's summer flight schedule, Osijek routes, and the results achieved so far.  In this year's summer flight schedule (March - October 2022), Croatia Airlines planes in domestic regular traffic directly connect Osijek with Split and Dubrovnik: flights to Split run on Fridays, and the Osijek - Dubrovnik route runs on Wednesdays (instead of on Thursdays). At the beginning of May, the year-round international line Osijek - Munich was introduced, with flights on Mondays and Fridays. Connecting CroatiaCroatia Airlines continues to ensure the air connectivity of Croatian cities and regions…

Arbona Analysis Reveals Croatia as 17th Most Googled Destination

July the 29th, 2022 - The Republic of Croatia is the seventeenth most searched (Googled) destination on the Internet, according to a recent Arbona analysis into the matter. As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, during these more modern times when trips to the travel agent and watching teletext like a hawk are things of the past, almost every single holiday starts with the use of good old Google, so there is probably no more relevant current source for monitoring trends in global tourism than the data of the search engine that is used today by more than 4.3 billion people in the world…

Korcula to Split via Peljesac Bridge: A Heavenly, Speedy Road Trip

July 28, 2022 - While most of the Peljesac Bridge commentary has been focused on connecting Dubrovnik, access to the islands of Korcula and Mljet has just improved considerably. TCN road tests the new drive from Korcula to Split.  One of the very few things I don't like about Korcula is its accessibility. Driving down from Zagreb is already a fairly long day, without having to either plan your trip around two ferries (Ploce to Trpanj, Orebic to Korcula) or two borders (the Neum Corridor) and then driving the length of the Peljesac Peninsula. That all changed yesterday.  And sitting…

Kutjevo Tourism Project: Partner Sought to Turn Town into Hit

July the 26th, 2022 - A Kutjevo tourism project to turn this continental Croatian town which is well known for its local wine into a tourist hit could well come to fruition. Kutjevo is seeking a partner to whom it will provide a large sum to if they can complete what's necessary for the vision. As Poslovni Dnevnik/Marija Brnic writes, Grasevina House, the centre just like those in some of the largest wine regions in France, Spain and Switzerland, has long been aimed for by Kutjevo's winemakers, and such a project has been being strategically designed and prepared for some…

Neum Tourism to Change Forever after Pelješac Bridge Opening

July 26, 2022 - Today's Pelješac Bridge opening will be a new start for Croatia - but what will it mean for Neum tourism?  While the opening of the Pelješac Bridge to Dubrovnik is of significant importance to Croatia, both from the tourist and economic side, Neum tourism workers, especially restauranteurs, are feeling quite the opposite.  Namely, from Tuesday, July 26, the Pelješac Bridge will officially connect Croatia for the first time in 300 years!  Last weekend, Neum restaurateurs and hoteliers were not shy about speaking to the media, revealing their worries that nothing will be the same from Tuesday. …

Sava Boats: New Project to Explore Zagreb River's Tourism Potential

July the 26th, 2022 - Sava boats will connect Zagreb's popular Jarun lake with Borovje with the use of five piers. After many ideas like this one for Zagreb having floated around for years now, it will be interesting to see one come to fruition. As Poslovni Dnevnik/Marija Brnic writes, throughout history, there have been many ideas on how to connect Zagreb and the Sava and how to make the Sava something more than just a river that divides the city. Until now, nothing has really succeeded, and only the embankment, which was created out of the need to protect…
