UNESCO World Hertitage Site in Croatia: Plitvice Lakes

Croatia has rich and diverse natural attractions, with many national parks, but only one is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The amazing lakes and waterfalls of Plitvice were added to the list of UNESCO sites in 1979. Despite their less than ideal proximity to the main tourist centres, Plitvice Lakes attract over one million tourists a year. The lakes are open all year, and each of the four season offers a uniquely different experience.
