Croatia Reports 2,559 New Coronavirus Cases, 22 Deaths

ZAGREB, 24 Feb 2022 - In the last 24 hours, 2,559 new coronavirus cases and 22 COVID-related deaths have been recorded in Croatia, the national coronavirus response team reported on Thursday.

The number of active cases currently stands at 20,578. Among them are 1,504 infected people being treated in hospitals, including 109 who are on ventilators, while 11,781 persons are self-isolating.

Since 25 February 2020, when the first case was confirmed in Croatia, 1,049,667 people have been registered as having been infected with the new SARS-CoV-2 virus, of whom 14,964 have died and 1,014,125 have recovered, including 3,405 in the last 24 hours.

A total of 4,496,130 people have been tested to date, including 7,862 in the last 24 hours.

By Wednesday, 5,189,032 COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered, with 56.82 percent of the total population, or 67.59 percent of adults, having been vaccinated. A total of 2,305,857 people have received at least one dose and 2,227,767 of them have been fully vaccinated, which is 65.44 percent of the adult population.
