WWII Uprising Anniversary Marked in Srb

ZAGREB, July 29, 2018 - The President of the Serb People's Council (SNV) Milorad Pupovac called on several hundred ethnic Serbs who gathered for a commemoration in the village of Srb to observe a minute of silence and pay their respects to the Serbs killed in 1941 in Nebljusi, Suvaj and Donji Lapac and Croats killed in the village of Boričevac and Brotnja.

Establishment of First Anti-Fascist Unit in Occupied Europe Remembered

ZAGREB, June 22, 2018 - The central event marking Antifascist Struggle Day was organised in the Brezovica forest near Sisak in memory of the day in 1941 when the 1st Sisak Partisan Detachment was formed, the first anti-Hitler unit in occupied Europe which marked the beginning of an organised national liberation struggle in Croatia in WWII.

Croatia Marking Antifascist Struggle Day National Holiday

ZAGREB, June 21, 2018 - Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović offered her best wishes to Croatian citizens on the occasion of Antifascist Struggle Day, stressing that Croatian antifascists began their four-year struggle for national freedom and social rights by calling for resistance to the country's fascist occupiers in the Brezovica forest on 22 June 1941.

Victory Day Marked in Zagreb

ZAGREB, May 10, 2018 - Victory Day, Europe Day and Zagreb Liberation Day were observed in Zagreb on Wednesday at a ceremony at which it was said that the values of anti-fascism were embedded in Croatia's constitution and that everyone had the duty to cultivate them so that fascism did not occur ever again.
