ZAGREB, January 29, 2018 - According to the Euro Health Consumer Index (EHCI), which is a comparison of European health care systems, in a 2017 survey ranking 35 European countries, Croatia's health care system ranked 26th, seven places down compared to 2016.
The exodus could endanger the provision of health services.
The problem was solved after several donated organs were lost to patients in Croatia.
Chaos in the Croatian healthcare system continues.
“When the media gets involved, there will be more donations,” says the Health Minister optimistically.
“The risk has increased after a significant number of citizens travelled for the New Year’s holidays,” says the Split-Dalmatia County Public Health Institute.
Falling vaccination rates in both countries contribute to the spread of the disease.
Costly medicines will be paid with voluntary donations by citizens.
