Croatia Condemns War Criminal Vojislav Šešelj’s Threats

ZAGREB, April 14, 2018 - The Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs on Friday strongly condemned threats which Serbian convicted war criminal Vojislav Šešelj had made against Tomislav Žigmanov, president of the Democratic Alliance of Croats in Vojvodina and a member of the Serbian parliament, and Nenad Čanak, president of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina, urging Serbia to take legal action against such outbursts of hatred and threats.

Vojislav Šešelj Makes Threats against Croat Leader in Serbia

ZAGREB, April 13, 2018 - Serbian Radical Party leader Vojislav Šešelj, who was given ten years' prison sentence by the Appeals Chamber of the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT) for war crimes against Croats in the early 1990s, said on Thursday that he was ready to repeat his crimes, this time against two lawmakers in the Serbian parliament - ethnic Croat leader Tomislav Žigmanov and Nenad Čanak, leader of the centre-left League of the Social Democrats of Vojvodina.

Croatia Satisfied with Guilty Verdict against Šešelj

ZAGREB, April 12, 2018 - Croatia is satisfied with the guilty verdict against Vojislav Šešelj, handed down on Wednesday by the UN court in The Hague, but considers the sentence to be far too mild with respect to the acts committed and their consequences, the Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Ministry said in a press release.

Serbian National Suspected of Involvement in Ovčara Massacre

ZAGREB, April 5, 2018 - Croatian police have filed a criminal report against a 45-year-old national of Serbia on the suspicion that, after the fall of the eastern town of Vukovar in November 1991, he was involved in the torture and killing of captured Croatian soldiers and civilians, including French national Jean-Michel Nicolier, taken from the Vukovar hospital to the Ovčara farm outside the city.

Serbia: Ustasha Files Will Not Be Transferred to Croatia

ZAGREB, April 4, 2018 - The Serbian Defence Ministry believes that the original archival material of the Independent State of Croatia (1941-1945) must remain in Serbia's possession and that its copies may be issued in line with agreements entered into by the Serbian government and the country's security protocols and interests, the Belgrade-based Politika daily reported on Wednesday.

Serbia Must Return Archival Material to Croatia

ZAGREB, March 28, 2018 - Based on the Agreement on Succession to the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY), Croatia is seeking the archival material from Serbia that has been found to belong to it, regardless of the period when it was created and that material, according to sources at the Croatian ministries of foreign affairs and culture, "was taken in several turns and without any grounds to the institutions in Belgrade" and Serbia is obliged to return it.
