Imports Rising Faster than Exports

ZAGREB, October 9, 2018 - Croatia's Jan - Aug exports amounted to 69.6 billion kuna, rising by 3.9% compared to the corresponding period in 2017 whereas imports amounted to 115.9 billion kuna or up 6.9%, according to preliminary figures released by the State of Bureau of Statistics (DZS) on Tuesday.

New Car Sales up 20.6% in Jan-Sept 2018

ZAGREB, October 6, 2018 - A total of 50,073 new cars were sold in Croatia in the first nine months of 2018, up 20.6% over the same period in 2017 when 41,505 vehicles were sold, according to the Promocija Plus marketing agency.

Growing Number of Hungarian Tourists Visiting Croatia

ZAGREB, September 30, 2018 - In the first nine months of 2018, the number of Hungarian tourists visiting Croatia increased by 8% to 595,000 in comparison to the corresponding period in 2017, and they generated 3.1 million overnight stays, up 6%, the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) says.

Employees Increasingly Using Sick Leave

ZAGREB, September 30, 2018 - The number of sick leave days taken by employees in Croatia in the first half of 2018 increased by 682,357 compared with the same period in 2017, while the average number of people on sick leave on a daily basis increased by 4,051, the Croatian Health Insurance Fund (HZZO) said earlier this week.
