Air Serbia re-established traffic between the two neighboring capitals on an evening flight from Belgrade to Zagreb on Wednesday. The line will be in operation every day, with one daily flight on an ATR75 aircraft. Booking on the first flight was very small.

Air Serbia has already launched flights on the Belgrade-Split route. The company operated its first flight on Sunday, June 28, and flights will run twice a week through July, Fridays and Sundays.

The company will also launch flights to Dubrovnik. The Dubrovnik - Belgrade line will be in operation from July 3 with two flights a week, on Fridays and Mondays, and from July 15, another flight will be added per week, every Wednesday.

The Belgrade - Zadar line is also being introduced. The company will operate on this line from July 11 with two flights per week, Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The long-term seasonal Belgrade - Pula line will be in operation from July 10, with as many as three flights per week, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

ATR75 aircraft are expected on the routes to Zagreb, Zadar and Pula, while aircraft of larger capacity, mainly A319, will operate to Dubrovnik and Split.

The only line that is no longer on sale is the one between Belgrade and Rijeka.

Furthermore, Croatian Aviation reported that Lufthansa would not operate on the Munich-Rijeka route in this year's summer flight schedule.

Lufthansa introduced the first line to Rijeka from its base in Munich last summer, and the line was in operation from the end of May to October 2019. CRJ9 aircraft operated on the route once a week, on Saturday evenings.

Croatia Airlines operates on the same route, three times a week, on a DashQ400 aircraft, but the line was suspended at the time of the pandemic and has not yet been returned to traffic. Lufthansa and Croatia Airlines have a code-share agreement on the Munich - Rijeka - Munich route.

Lufthansa has confirmed that it will not launch the Munich-Rijeka route this summer, but plans to return to it in the summer of 2021, but will, therefore, travel to Zagreb, Zadar, Pula, Split and Dubrovnik.

In last year's summer flight schedule, the line operated daily, and for September this year, even A330 aircraft was announced on the route, with which this company operates on intercontinental routes.

Iberia lines to Zagreb, Split and Zadar are not on sale for July.

Ukrainian airline Windrose Airlines has announced the resumption of regular traffic on the Kyiv-Split route. The line will be in operation as early as Sunday, July 5, with one flight per week, every Sunday. As of July 23, the second flight of the week, on Thursdays, is on sale. We remind you that this company will soon operate to Pula, while the line to Zagreb has been postponed until the winter flight schedule.

Finnair announced the introduction of direct flights from Helsinki to Dubrovnik and Split.

The Helsinki-Dubrovnik line is on sale from July 27, and flights are announced once a week, on Saturdays. From August 3, the line will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, until the end of the summer flight schedule, i.e., on October 25.

The Helsinki-Split line is on sale from the same date as the line to Dubrovnik, and from the beginning of August, there will also be two weeks of flights on this line, every Wednesday and Saturday.

Last summer, Finnair flew to Split as many as 6 times a week, while Helsinki was connected to Dubrovnik every day, and on Fridays with as many as two daily flights.

Furthermore, Avio Radar reports that on June 29, Lauda began operations on the Vienna-Zadar route, which did not run last year. This route will run twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, with the third flight in September, on Wednesdays.

This is the first announced new regular line for this year that has started operating. The second new line for this year was the Vienna-Dubrovnik route, which is currently not on offer at all.

Lauda will fly to Split from Sunday, July 5, from Stuttgart. This line will run once a week, on Sundays, which is two flights less than last year.

The Vienna-Zadar line is being introduced, three times a week, from July 10. Type 195 aircraft will operate on this line every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, with the exception of the first day of operations when Austrian will operate on Friday as well. As we mentioned, the line was originally supposed to operate daily, with a larger capacity aircraft from the very beginning of the summer flight schedule, but due to the pandemic, it is being introduced only now, in July.

Although Austrian announced the flight schedule for July, there have been some changes and a significant increase in the number of weekly flights to Croatia.

The Vienna-Dubrovnik line was announced four times a week through July, but there has been a change, and the line will run as many as 6 times a week (from July 10), every day except Tuesdays.

The Vienna-Split route was to operate only three times a week, though the company modified the flight schedule to this airport and increased the number of weekly flights to as many as six (every day except Wednesday).

The Vienna-Zagreb route will have 8 weekly rotations with daily flights, with the exception that there will be two flights a day on the line on Thursdays.

Croatian Aviation also reports that well-known Irish low-budget carrier Ryanair will launch lines from Ireland and Great Britain to four Croatian airports this week.

From the beginning of July, Ryanair will fly to Croatia again. Flights to Zadar have already started (from Stuttgart and Vienna), while the other 8 lines from Zadar will begin operating this week.

From Wednesday, July 1, Ryanair will operate again on the route Dublin - Dubrovnik - Dublin. Flights are announced until the end of October and will take place twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. As a reminder, before the pandemic, the company planned 4 weeks of flights on this line.

From Thursday, July 2, the company will establish traffic on the London - Pula - London (Stansted Airport) line. Flights on this route are also announced by the end of October, twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. In previous summer seasons, Ryanair operated on this line up to 5 times a week.

From Saturday, July 4, the Dublin - Split - Dublin line will be introduced, which should operate until October 24, i.e., the end of the summer flight schedule. Although Ryanair flew significantly more weekly flights on this route last year, due to the crisis and reduced demand, two flights a week are currently announced, every Tuesday and Saturday.

In the second week of July, from Monday, July 6, Ryanair will operate again on the London - Rijeka - London (Stansted Airport) line. Throughout July, only one flight per week is announced, every Monday, while an increase to two weeks of flight is expected from the beginning of August (additional flight on Fridays). This line will operate slightly shorter than the others, until the end of September.

Ryanair previously canceled the line from London to Osijek, and it will operate to four Croatian airports this summer as well. The line from London to Zadar has also been canceled in this year's summer flight schedule.

As for AerLingus, which usually flies from Dublin to Pula, Split and Dubrovnik, all lines (except the one for Split) were marked as sold out in July and it is currently not possible to buy a ticket. The company confirmed that they are monitoring the situation and will react by introducing lines as soon as the conditions are met.

Eight Airlines Returning to Zagreb Airport this Week

Jun 29, 2020 - Eight airlines with eight international routes will return to Zagreb Airport this week.

Croatian Aviation reports that until now, the traffic at Zagreb Airport depended mainly on Croatia Airlines. In addition to the national airline, Eurowings also flew to Zagreb from Cologne, which will continue to operate on that route, and Trade Air on the domestic route from Osijek.

But that is changing as of this week. An Austrian Airlines plane with 26 passengers from Vienna landed in Zagreb today, while 36 passengers traveled to Vienna. This is the first Austrian Airlines flight to Zagreb after the suspension of operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the company will now operate daily on the Vienna-Zagreb route.

On Wednesday, July 1, the Paris-Zagreb route will be re-established by Air France, which is announcing only three weeks of flights on this route.

On the same day, Turkish Airlines will return to Zagreb on the route from Istanbul. The company normally operates twice a day during the summer flight schedule to Zagreb, but the number of weekly flights has been reduced, and it will currently operate on this route 5 times a week.

Another regular guest is returning to Zagreb Airport. Qatar Airways starts the Doha - Zagreb route with 3 weeks of flights, otherwise in the summer flight schedule to Zagreb, it operated as many as 14 times a week, i.e., twice a day.

Lufthansa, which normally flies from Frankfurt and Munich to Zagreb, will re-establish regular traffic on the Munich-Zagreb route from Wednesday, initially 3 times a week.

From the same date, Air Serbia will reconnect Belgrade and Zagreb, and flights are on sale 7 days a week.

On Thursday, July 2, Eurowings will re-establish the Stuttgart-Zagreb route, which will operate twice a week through July.

From July 4, KLM planes will fly to Zagreb again. From that date, the Dutch airline will operate on the route Amsterdam - Zagreb, and 3 weeks of flights with smaller capacity aircraft have been announced.

Croatia Airlines continues to operate on a number of domestic and international routes from Zagreb, increasing traffic since the beginning of July.

You should always check the restrictions of the country you are traveling to before traveling.

Flights to Croatia: easyJet Introduces First 6 Lines to Croatia

June 28, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Split Airport.

Croatian Aviation reports that at the beginning of July, easyJet will launch 6 lines to Croatia. Although this well-known low-budget airline operates in the summer flight schedule to Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Pula, currently only specific routes from and to Split Airport have been confirmed.

Given the pandemic, the company has so far not launched international routes to Croatian destinations. Although you can buy tickets for many destinations and various dates on the company's website, Croatian Aviation recommends that you read the article until the end and advises you to purchase tickets by mid-July on the lines listed in the text.

At the beginning of July, easyJet will launch only 6 lines to Croatia, all to Split Airport. The company currently has almost 50 lines on sale from four Croatian airports: Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Pula.

In order to avoid possible inconveniences in the form of flight cancellations, you can find the confirmed flight schedule below, because, on all other routes, there is the possibility of weekly flight reductions or cancellations.

According to the current announcement, easyJet will operate on the following lines from the beginning of July:

Split - Amsterdam, from July 4, 2 times a week, on Saturdays and Sundays,

Split - Basel, from July 4, 4 times a week, Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays,

Split - Berlin, from July 3, daily,

Split - Geneva, from July 4, once a week, on Saturdays,

Split - London (Luton), from July 1, daily,

Split - Paris (Charles De Gaulle), from July 8, twice a week, Wednesdays and Sundays.

The low-cost carrier currently confirms the flight schedule for 14 days, so all flights from mid-July are questionable. The company will almost certainly continue to operate on these routes after mid-July, and the number of weekly flights is likely to increase, but it is advised you purchase a ticket for the travel period after mid-July on the days of the week listed for each line.

As always, you should also check the restrictions of the country you are traveling to before traveling.

From Thursday, July 16, flydubai will operate on the Dubai - Dubrovnik - Dubai line twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday, on a B737-800 aircraft. Given that there is currently no direct connection between Dubrovnik Airport and any of the previously planned airlines for this season, by which Asian tourists could come to Croatia to a greater extent (Qatar, Turkish), the start of traffic on the line to Dubai is certainly good - and important news.

LOT has announced changes related to its flight schedule to Croatia, and in addition to launching routes from Warsaw to Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik, the company will introduce as many as 13 completely new routes to Croatian cities. The latest announcement is the introduction of the Warsaw-Rijeka line.

This is an entirely new LOT line from Warsaw to Croatia, and Rijeka will be connected to the Polish capital once a week, every Sunday, from July 5. E195 aircraft with a capacity of 112 passengers will operate on the route.

Furthermore, Ex Yu Aviation reports that Croatia Airlines will launch a seasonal charter service from Brac to Linz via Graz once a week, aiming to bring Austrian tourists to the Croatian island.

The charter services will be operated by Austrian tour operator Gruber Reisen and will begin on Saturday, June 27. The charter service will run until early October.

Ex Yu adds that Croatia Airlines will resume its service between Zagreb and Brac on July 7, running twice a week, on Tuesday and Saturday.

Flights to Croatia: Qatar Airways Returning to Zagreb, Eurowings Boosts Traffic to Croatia

June 25, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Split, Pula, Rijeka, and Zadar.

Croatian Aviation reports that Qatar Airways, the state-owned Qatari airline, will operate on a direct route between Doha and Zagreb from July 1.

Qatar Airways has been operating on the Doha - Zagreb route since May 2012, initially operated with a stop in Budapest, but with the development of demand, the company launched a direct line between the two cities, and since then only increases the number of flights and capacity on the route to the Croatian capital.

Until the coronavirus outbreak, the line operated twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon, mainly with narrow-body aircraft type A320 and A321.

Due to weak demand and international restrictions, and in order to prevent the spread of the virus, the line has been suspended, and the company will renew it from July 1.

The line will be in traffic only three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with an afternoon departure from Zagreb. A320 aircraft with a capacity of 144 passengers have been announced on the route.

As the company resumes traffic to other destinations, passengers will be able to travel from Zagreb to numerous destinations in Asia, Australia and Oceania.

The return of Qatar to Zagreb is certainly an addition to the tourist season, given that these flights will provide a very simple connection to distant destinations from which we have been growing the number of visitors for years.

As we wrote earlier, the new Qatar Airways line between Doha and Dubrovnik has been completely canceled for this year and the company plans to launch it in the 2021 summer season.

Croatian Aviation also reports that Eurowings announced its flight schedule for July. We remind you that this airline was among the first to re-establish traffic to Croatian airports.

The company already operates from German airports to Zagreb, Pula, Rijeka, Zadar and Split, and from July it will increase the number of weekly flights on many routes to Croatia.

Lines to Zagreb

The existing Cologne - Zagreb line will now operate three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays,

The Stuttgart - Zagreb line is reintroduced, twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

No changes in Pula and Rijeka

Eurowings will operate to Pula and Rijeka in July without changes, as follows:

Dusseldorf - Pula, once a week, on Saturdays,

Dusseldorf - Rijeka, once a week, on Saturdays,

Hamburg - Rijeka, once a week, on Sundays.

New line to Zadar

In addition to the existing Cologne - Zadar line (once a week, on Saturdays), Stuttgart - Zadar (from July 5, once a week) will be introduced, which will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from the second half of July.

New lines to Split

From July, Split Airport will have as many as 13 weekly international flights.

Hamburg - Split will continue to operate twice a week and in July (Tuesdays and Sundays),

Stuttgart - Split will operate twice a week (once so far), on Wednesdays and Saturdays,

Dusseldorf - Split will operate three times a week (once so far), on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays,

Cologne - Split is introduced, it will operate as many as five times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays), and on Saturdays, the two cities will be connected twice a day.

Eurowings has no plans to launch international flights to Dubrovnik and Osijek in July.

From July 4, Scandinavian Airlines will introduce the Copenhagen - Pula route, once a week (every Saturday), though the route will probably be intensified with more weekly flights in the coming period. SAS announced the A320neo aircraft on this route.

Recall, yesterday, we announced that SAS released a modified flight schedule for July, in which the number of weekly flights to Split has increased significantly.

The company has decided to increase the number of weekly flights and add a route from Stockholm to Split, so SAS will connect Split with Scandinavia according to the following schedule:

Copenhagen - Split, from June 29, daily (so far twice a week)

Oslo - Split, from June 29, six times a week, except Thursdays (so far once a week).

SAS will also introduce Stockholm - Split, from July 1, which will operate daily.

From the same date, Jule 4, Windrose Airlines plans to launch the Kyiv-Pula route, also once a week (Saturday), with the A321 aircraft, but the second weekly flight (Tuesday) is also on sale, from July 21.

Furthermore, Ex Yu Aviation reports that Spanish airline Iberia will not resume the Madrid - Zagreb service until the start of the 2020/2021 winter season.

Namely, Iberia will resume the route on October 23 with three flights per week, on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

In 2019, Iberia carried 47,703 passengers between Madrid and Zagreb. Iberia will resume seasonal flights to Dubrovnik on July 17, though services to Split and Zadar have not yet been scheduled.

Flights to Croatia: SAS Boosts Traffic to Split, Austrian Airlines Changes for July

June 23, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik and Zadar.

Croatian AviationCroatian Aviation reports that Scandinavian Airlines, better known as SAS, has announced a modified flight schedule for July, in which the number of weekly flights to Split has increased significantly.

As we announced earlier this month, the company launched flights to Split from Copenhagen and Oslo in a reduced form, only once a week from Oslo and twice a week from Copenhagen.

SAS will also introduce Stockholm - Split, from July 1, which will operate daily!

On the routes from Copenhagen and Oslo, the company will use A320neo aircraft, while B737-800 aircraft will operate from Stockholm. The A320 in the fleet of this carrier has a capacity of 174 passengers, while the B737-800 has a capacity for 181 passengers.

Furthermore, Croatian Aviation reports that Austrian Airlines changed its flight schedule for July, and there were some operational changes on the routes from Vienna to Croatia.

Austrian made its first flight this summer to Dubrovnik on Sunday and will operate twice a week on the route to Vienna until the end of the month. On Wednesday, Austrian will launch a line to Split. As of June 29, a daily connection between Vienna and Zagreb will be introduced.

In July, there will be some changes to these lines. Namely, Austrian Airlines will increase the number of weekly flights to Dubrovnik and Zagreb and decrease it to Split.

Vienna-Dubrovnik will be increased from the existing two flights a week to four (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays),

Vienna-Split will be reduced from the existing four flights to three (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays),

Vienna - Zagreb will continue to operate daily, but on Thursdays, there will be two daily flights on this line (a total of 8 flights per week).

The Vienna-Zadar line will not be in operation in July either, so its launch this summer season is questionable.

The announcement of Lufthansa, which is part of the group that also includes Austrian Airlines, is expected soon, so we believe that Lufthansa will increase the number of flights to Croatia.
