2017 is off to a good start...
For the 14th year in a row, the New York Times Travel Show was held at the Jacob K. Javits conference center in New York City.
Representatives of the Croatian Tourist Board organized the workshop “Sell Croatia” in Moscow on January 24.
As part of the activities aimed at reducing pressure on Plitvice Lakes National Park, representatives of UNESCO and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) - who conduct expert evaluations of UNESCO - were part of a reactive monitoring mission initiated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy in Croatia. The purpose of the mission was to form opinions on the state of the park, as well as to present optimal solutions.

"Croatia Feeds", the first campaign of the new year, is being carried out in various European markets to motivate travel to the country through intriguing stories.
According to preliminary official data from the eVisitor system which contains tourist growth in commercial and non-commercial capacity, and according to the system eCrew which contains the tourist traffic of nautical charter, Croatia in the year 2016 achieved 16.3 million arrivals and 91.3 million overnight stays. The results represent roughly 11 million more overnight stays compared to 2015.
Today, the Head Office of the Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) held the 7th meeting of the Tourism Council in which, among other things, members of the Council have adopted an annual work program and financial plan for the Croatian Tourist Board for 2017.

In Opatija at Villa Angiolina on Friday, 25 November, a presentation was held titled "Shanghai meets Croatia in Opatija". The presentation and meeting of tourist associations and employees took place within a three-day stay of the Chinese delegation in Opatija, with the basic aim being to introduce Opatija and Croatian markets, but to also explore the possibilities of cooperation between Chinese and Croatian partners. At the meeting, a letter of intent was been signed between the Tourist Board of Shanghai and Opatija.
