Millions Lost on Uljanik’s Cancelled Ships

ZAGREB, September 5, 2018 - Economy Minister Darko Horvat said on Tuesday that the Uljanik shipbuilding group's obligations for four ships that have been cancelled amounted to about 30 million euro, while the government's obligations for two ships were about 28 million euro.

Government Trying to Find Money to Pay Shipbuilders Salaries

ZAGREB, August 27, 2018 - After meeting with the striking council from the Pula- and Rijeka-based shipyards on Monday, Economy Minister Darko Horvat said that intensive effort was being made to secure two wages for workers at the Uljanik Group and that he hoped that by the end of the week a solution would be found for at least one pay.

Darko Horvat Nominated for Economy Minister

ZAGREB, May 22, 2018 - Darko Horvat, who is expected to take over the post of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Minister, has said that he expects a lot of challenges and the resolution of at least some of the problems in the economic sector, including the situation in the ailing Agrokor food and retail conglomerate, announcing that he will present his first measures with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković after he familiarises himself with the situation in his new ministry.
