Refinery Explosion Brings Forward Environmental Concerns

ZAGREB, October 10, 2018 - An oil spill was spotted on the River Sava downstream of the oil refinery at Bosanski Brod, a town in the Bosnian Serb entity of Republika Srpska on the border with Croatia, where an explosion and a fire occurred on Tuesday night, and the relevant Croatian services were notified, the Croatian Rescue and Protection Directorate (DUZS) said on Wednesday.

Large Explosion Hits Oil Refinery on Croatian Border

ZAGREB, October 10, 2018 - Eight workers were injured and one person has died in a fire that broke out after an explosion in the oil refinery in Bosanski Brod, a town on the River Sava in the Bosnian Serb entity of Republika Srpska, around 9.30 pm on Tuesday, and they were all hospitalised, local media reported.

Đuro Đaković Sells Freight Wagons to French Customer

ZAGREB, September 2, 2018 - The Đuro Đaković Special Vehicles company, which is part of the Đuro Đaković Group, has signed a 127.2 million kuna (17.18 million euro) contract with the French Ermewa company for the delivery of freight wagons for the transport of sheet metal coils, the Slavonski Brod-based company has said.

Nobody Held Responsible for Slavonski Brod Water Pollution

ZAGREB, July 20, 2018 - Unhappy about the fact that criminal charges against an unidentified perpetrator for a water pollution accident in Slavonski Brod in March were dropped, Mayor Mirko Duspara on Wednesday told a press conference that the way the investigation into the incident was conducted was contentious because it did not incorporate the entire five kilometre route of the gas pipeline where the tests were conducted.
