Something new on the cards for Vis!

The latest episode of the popular German crime series is set on Vis island

A few nights ago I was invited by friends to a Mamma Mia! musical performance in Zagreb’s Komedija Theatre.

Unfortunately, the sailor who went missing near Vis island was not found.

They will arrive to the Croatian island of Vis in September, together with Colin Firth and Amanda Seyfried, to film the sequel of the famous musical “Mamma Mia!”, named “Mamma Mia: Here we go Again,” and stay there until around mid-October

To add a certain flavour punch to our usual topics, we'll present the best of our traditional foods and dishes indigenous to Croatian islands. We kick off by one of the favourites – so good, even people from other regions often steal the recipe: the Vis pie.

An island that is furthest from the main islands on the Dalmatian coast, which it is best to reach with your private boat. Much of Vis’ recent history was spent serving as a military base for the Yugoslav National Army, completely closed off from foreign visitors from the the 1950’s-1989. The upside to this? Vis was kept from being developed, essentially erasing the carbon footprint, driving the population to other areas. What this means for us?
