The popular Vukovar waterbus “Bajadera” by Danubium Tours has quickly become a recognizable tourist product of Vukovar and Croatia.
TCN first introduced readers to the "Bajadera" waterbus in Vukovar when the project first launched at the end of 2015. You can read more about that here.
The first tourist ship in Vukovar since the 1930’s, Bajadera now celebrates one year on the Danube. And the best part? Nearly 6,000 tourists have enjoyed the Bajadera experience thus far, reports Lokalni.Vecernji.hr on April 8, 2017.
“Tourists who sail with us have the opportunity to get acquainted with a different side of Vukovar. In the first year we’ve had about 6,000 tourists which is an example of just how recognizable this boat and our offer has become,” said the director of Danubium Tours, Zrinka Šesto.
Bajadera sails 365 days a year, and in addition to being used for river tours, the boat has also become a venue for various events and celebrations. A fun example? During last year's Vukovar Film Festival, Bajadera became the only floating cinema in Europe where documentary films were screened.
The Bajadera waterbus is eco-friendly, too!
Particularly attractive is the fact that the waterbus is driven by a battery, making it entirely ecological. The battery is charged overnight to ensure ten hours of calm and pleasant sailing. To move forward with their eco-efforts, Danubium Tours plans to install solar panels on the roof of the waterbus this year. Talk about an innovative and environmentally friendly tourist project!
Congratulations to Danubium Tours on their environmental efforts thus far. We look forward to watching your eco-story continue!
