Conde Nast Says: Best Holiday Spot in the Med to Avoid Crowds is Vis!

By 6 May 2016

If you want the perfect Mediterranean holiday but don't like loud parties, head to Vis.

Renowned international travel journalists are spending more and more in Croatia and we are glad to see (and read) that they are discovering new towns, islands and villages to recommend in their articles, besides the popular destinations along the coast. The latest addition to this growing list is Aleksander Maksik for Conde Nast Traveler, his article was shared to the international audience via their official Facebook page on May 6, 2016, for millions of fans to see.

Aleksander is full of praise for Vis, its beauty and above all, its serenity. So, after Best European Destinations voted Stiniva beach the most beautiful in Europe, Vis gets more international recognition.

While much of the Mediterranean turns into a big, sun-soaked party come summer, this remote Croatian island lies quietly outside the fray—with sloping vineyards, seafood by the boatload, and crystal coves you’ll have almost to yourself.

As the ferry heaves open nearly three hours later in Vis Town, there’s none of the bustling enthusiasm I’ve come to associate with these arrivals—no hooting backpackers charging out into the night, no touts selling rooms or restaurants.
