Emirates, one of the largest airline companies in the world, will land in Croatia for the first time on June 1st, 2017.
For this occasion, Minister of Tourism Gari Cappellli traveled to Dubai on Tuesday and will return on the inaugural flight to Zagreb airport, reports Poslovni.hr on May 30, 2017. Beginning June 1st, Emirates will start daily and year-round direct flights between Zagreb and Dubai.
The Ministry of Tourism reported on Tuesday that as part of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, Minister Cappelli will visit the headquarters of the Emirates company in Dubai to meet with President Tim Clark on May 31st, 2017.
“With the head of Emirates, Cappelli will discuss the importance of the introduction of this direct flight between Zagreb and Dubai and the further development of tourism and the Croatian economy. He also plans to meet with the executive director of one of the world's largest health insurance corporations - Jai Verma from CIGNA - with whom he will discuss the possibilities of cooperation on medical tourism,” announced by the Ministry.
Cappelli will return to Zagreb on the Emirates's inaugural flight which will arrive at Franjo Tudjman Airport on June 1st. A welcoming ceremony will, of course, take place.
Emirates will fly to Zagreb with one of their largest aircraft - a Boeing 777-300EU with 364 seats - providing passengers with three-class flying options that include luxury private apartments and more. The first flight between Zagreb and Dubai will take six hours.
You can take a look at what the aircraft will look like in the video below.
This new Emirates flight will connect Croatia indirectly with 80 countries in Asia, Australia, Africa and the Middle East, which will significantly strengthen Croatia’s position for tourists in distant markets.
While everyone expects this flight will boost both tourist and business visits to Dubai and Croatia, the Emirates flight can also transport cargo and is allowed up to 23 tons of cargo per flight.
The promotional return flight price is around 400 EUR for the economy class.
