Sunset cruise with Polaris in Split, is the perfect way to spend a unique evening in Split.
Having lived in Croatia for two years now, I must admit that I barely pay a second thought to the tours I see along the Riva, thinking – surely, they are just for tourists. Since writing for Total Croatia Sailing, I have taken it upon myself to go on more of these tours to experience firsthand what they are really like so I can share, what is hopefully – useful and valuable information.
One of these such tours I recently went on was the Sunset Cruise aboard Polaris boat. It sounds a little cliché doesn’t it, or instantly ‘The Love Boat’ jingle comes to mind. I have to be honest and say I wasn’t expecting much, but I gathered a couple of girlfriends, including Daniela Rogulj from Total Split and off we went.
Quite frankly, it was one of the most fun evenings we had all had in a long time. Of course, every trip like this is an opportunity for great social media coverage; thanks to our RoamFree Ninja wifi, we were able to stream live from our pages and do all of the necessary social media posts – combining pleasure and work, winning (you can read more about RoamFree Ninja here).
I thought it would be your typical ‘tourist trap’, get them on, take their money, provide a panorama view of Split and that’s all folks. But this wasn’t the case at all. There were canapes, drinks and live music by a very well-known local band – ‘Triangl Bend’, the singer Ana Dorotić was even in the second season of the Voice of Croatia. I got chatting to the Captain Marin Novaković, who has an impressive family history at sea (you can read more here) and it was soon very apparent that this is no ordinary tour.
As a group of locals, we had a great night out or if you only had a few nights in Split, this is a perfect way to spend an evening – drinking, enjoying the lively and sultry tunes of Triangl Bend and watching the sun dip into the Adriatic. Perfection. It is also worth mentioning that this is not a 'booze cruise', that is the last thing Marin is trying to promote, it is a relaxed evening which suits a group of friends or even families.
I could talk a lot more, but rather I thought it easier to show you footage of our night and let this video do the talking instead. Bonus - you even get to see Dani and I grooving away!
