Who would be a beach in January in Croatia?
It is THE iconic beach in Croatia, and one which has contributed to perhaps the best marketing slogan in Croatian tourism in 2015, but when the weather gets rough, even beaches get confused.
Zlatni Rat (or Golden Cape) on Bol on the island of Brac, whose most famous export is its white stone which today adorns historic buildings such as The White House in Washington, is a picture postcard 364 days a year, and one of the most used images to promote Croatian tourism internationally. So much so in fact that the Bol Tourist Board's official slogan now, accompanied by pictures of the famous beach, is 'SymBOL of the Adriatic'.
But sometimes even world famous beaches get confused by the weather, for example on January 8, 2015. Let's face it, Dalmatia has had the sunniest December ever, with not even a drop of rain, followed by a mini-tornado in Split. Hardly any wonder then that Zlatni Rat beach reacted to today's wind as in the lead photo above...
