The other two make for a bit more surprising choices, even if fully deserved, as they often tend to get overlooked in favour of more distinguished destinations.

Omiš town, located on the estuary of Cetina river in central Dalmatia, is nestled in a spectacular canyon and lined with the longest beach between Split and Makarska. The town is known for its history of traditional shipbuilding, but also for its sailors and pirates who controlled the area in the 12th and 13th centuries. From preserved medieval fortresses to a quaint historical core, the scenery in Omiš makes the town a perfectly reasonable pick for a list featuring most beautiful landscapes in the world. Curious? Take a look at this piece to learn more about Omiš and feast your eyes on some amazing photos.

And finally, for some sugar on top, there's Galešnjak island. Remember those artificial islands near the coast of Dubai, constructed to resemble a giant palm or a map of the world? Well, the Adriatic doesn't need any engineering brilliance in this regard, as we have our very own little treasure that nature decided to form in shape of a heart. Due to this iconic outlook, it was dubbed the Island of Love or Lovers' Island – only in theory, though, as it's privately owned and doesn't contain any man-made infrastructure, only wild vegetation. For the sake of this unique location, we hope it remains that way.
