A First In Croatia: Three Dubrovnik Agencies Join Together To Provide Complete Service

By 31 October 2017

Good news for both private renters and tourists in the Pearl of the Adriatic as three major Dubrovnik companies merge to provide better service for all.

As Dubrovacki Dnevnik writes on the 31st of October, 2017, there is some pretty big news on the private accommodation front in Dubrovnik and the local area!

The joining together of three large and well known Dubrovnik companies to make the management of private renters' premises all the better and easier was presented at today's press conference by the owners and founders of Direct Booker, Dominium Travel and Adatto, who are of course, engaged in one of Dubrovnik's main sources of income - the renting of private accommodation.

Namely, Direct Booker signed a cooperation agreement with Dominium Travel, while Dominium Travel and Adatto were merged into an entirely new brand named Dominatto. The plan is that Direct Booker with their Dubrovnik office that employs 60 people, will be at the service of private landlords for sales and marketing, while Dominatto will take care of the growing, often specific needs of private landlords and the proper cleaning and preparing of apartments that are rented out to Dubrovnik's constantly increasing number of tourists. The project was presented today by the owners and founders, Nino Dubretić and Nikola Grubelić, the owner and founder of Dominium Travel, Slavica Grkeš, as well as Denis Dilberović and Leo Mrkić, the owners and founders of Adatto.

"The market has changed. The private accommodation service has a segment that comes down to sales and marketing. Up until three years ago, a [proper] service for reception and the cleaning of the apartments was unknown,'' Dubretić said, adding that Direct Booker and Dominium Travel shared good, friendly relations from their very beginning. Therefore, the signing of this contract was a logical sequence of a kind of pleasant partnership that has existed from the start.

Dubretić expressed hopes that the local authorities will recognise that this is a new business model that has not been seen elsewhere in Croatia yet, one which should also create new jobs in the future.

Dilberović said that it was necessary to recognise the challenges in the market which primarily concern Croatia's much talked about labour shortage, adding the fact that their mission would be the first of this kind in Croatia to improve these services to such a degree that it could even be successful enough to be sold as a franchise outside of the country. Their work has been cited as an example of not having to look at competition as a detrimental factor but as a method to use to improve overall business operations for the greater good.

Otherwise, these companies have achieved a million overnight stays, have taken over 100,000 reservations and as previously stated, have about 150 employees.
