Leaving Towels Overnight to Save your Spot on the Beach? Not in Tisno!

By 12 August 2015

Thinking of leaving your towel on the beach in Tisno to reserve the best spot? Think again...

Municipality of Tisno has had it with locals and tourists leaving their towels on beaches overnight to save a spot for the next day, causing havoc and making it impossible for municipal services to clean the beaches. Municipal monitoring officers have been patrolling the beaches around Tisno since July 15th in order to remove towels and personal belongings and that practice will continue until September 1st.

Once monitoring officers remove personal belongings that have been left behind, they are safely stored in the Monitoring office in Tisno where owners can claim them.

This practice is not unusual around the globe, for instance, municipality of Torrox near Malaga on Costa del Sol went as far as to charge a 30 EUR fine for all “offenders” once they come to claim their confiscated belongings.
