Yoga in Paradise: Pakleni Island Retreats in Vlaka

By paul 30 July 2015

I have never practised yoga, but there is no denying that people who do seem to be more relaxed and content in life. I always look on with a little envy at their tranquil inner calm, but never enough to actually tempt me to give it a try.

But if I was to give it a try (and I am beginning to think that I might), it would be in the company of a very engaging young lady called Tihana Petrovic. I have only met Tihana twice, but on both occasions, I have been struck by her calming aura and amazing eyes (this coming from the guy who married the best eyes on the Adriatic), and early reports back from her first retreat in eastern Hvar were very complimentry indeed.

Tihana has now gone one better, and she will be offering yoga retreats in Paradise itself from the end of August.

There is no greater heaven on Hvar than the Pakleni Islands, and one destination in particular is still very undiscovered - Vlaka. Located on the north-western tip of the largest of the Pakleni Islands, Sveti Klement, Vlaka is a slice of heaven with its own Roman ruins and mud bath to go along with some of the fabled vineyards of Jelsa winemaker Andro Tomic at just over 1 metre above sea level.

And starting a month from now, there will also be the Pakleni Islands Yoga Retreat at Villa Colnago in Vlaka. If yoga is your thing, check it out, and even if it isn't, this lady is very interesting. See her in action below and learn more on the retreat Facebook page
