Srecko Mavrek
Srecko lives in New York City and currently works as a swimming & physical education teacher for the New York City Department of Education and adjunct lecturer for the City University of New York. He is an internationally recognized educational expert and currently serves a professional representative of Kappa Delta Pi – International Honor Society in Education to the United Nations Department of Global Communications. Before coming to the USA in 2005, he held research/lecturing positions at the universities in Italy, Austria, Germany and Hungary. Srecko sings the 2nd tenor in well-known klapa Astoria, which became famous by performing the USA Anthem during the Croatian Heritage Night in Madison Square Garden on January 11, 2019. He also composes world music and plays different instruments in Science of Music. In addition, he is the HIA News Correspondent (hia.com.hr). Srecko is passionate to preserve and promote the Croatian heritage and culture worldwide.
