Parish Church, Vrgorac Sights

By 4 February 2018

The urban whole of the town boasts the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in 1913. The church is three-nave, erected neo-romantic with three portals on the front, and a prominent belfry that adorns two preserved bells from the 18th century. The altar is Madonna of Italy, while the other is a valuable painting by Madonna of Byzantine Umileniya, and is found in the parish collection along with many other valuable sacral objects. According to the surrender, the image was acquired by a superhuman hero and sergeant Rade Mijo Miletić, whose grave as well as the grave of the martyr Fr. Ivan Rozić is located in the church of the same name.
