Is there more to discover at the Rašćane cemetery?

According to Dalmacija News, an amateur archaeologist and historian Edward McAlister from Aberdeen in Scotland visited Rašćane near Vrgorac in hope to find material for his book on Templars. McAlister travels through Europe, visiting sites that could be of an interest and that could provide him with information about Templars. Rašćane was one of the places, especially the Church of St. Michael and the cemetery.

One of the tasks of the Templar Knights was to provide secure passage of a large number of pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem. One such important track led from Rome to Jerusalem, going through Rašćane. According to historical sources, Templars were given a large estate of the Gorska Parish, including Rašćane and surroundings. Hence, the possibility of graves of Templars in Rašćane. On some old tombstones near the Church of St. Michael, several typical symbols of the Templar Order can be found.
