But here is an idea, why don´t you bring a piece of Trilj to your homes for a moment? Trilj tourist board prepared for us these 3 traditional recipes for you to try at home. Here they are, try them and let us know how they turned out..
The Trilj Cake (Padišpanja)
5 egg yolks
5 tablespoons of sugar
1 baking powder
1 vanilla sugar
rum
5 tablespoons of flour
5 egg whites
Topping:
4 egg yolks
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of flour
1 vanilla sugar
10 dkg of cooking chocolate
Mix egg yolks and sugar until foamy, add baking powder, vanilla sugar, rum, grated lemon peel, flour and finally egg white snow. Pour everything into a mold and bake at 200°C.
Topping
Mix egg yolks and sugar, add vanilla sugar, flour, boiling milk. Cook on steam until it thickens and then add the chocolate broke to pieces.
The Chicharrone Cake
1 kg of flour
2 baking powders
40 dkg of ground chicharrones (pork rindes)
40 dkg of sugar
4 eggs
2 dcl of milk
lemon or orange peel
rum
plum or cherry jam
Mix flour with the baking powder, add the ground chicharrones, sugar, eggs, cold milk, lemon peel and rum. Knead well and divide into 4 parts, roll out to 1 cm, add a layer of marmalade, roll it up and bake at 160 °C for about an hour.
