Sinj and Cetina Region in Vukovar

On June 25th in Vukovar, the event, ''Dunav svome gradu' was held on the occasion of the International Day of the Danube. At this event, the Sinj and Cetina gastronomic, tourist and cultural offers were displayed.

A delegation of 8 members from Sinj, led by Mayor Kristina Križanac, Tourist Board of Sinj, Sinj Entrepreneurial Center, and the Association for the Preservation of Heritage Cetina region were present. Sinj and the Cetina were represented in Vukovar through arambaša and uštipaka in symbolic amounts - 1716 Sinj arambaša as a symbol of the 300th anniversary of the coronation of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj and 1,300 uštipaka as symbolic of the distance between Sinj and Vukovar (1,300 kilometers).

 

There was a great general interest of residents and visitors to the city of Vukovar, with an eagerness to taste the delicacies of Sinj.

 

The mayor of Vukovar, Ivan Penava, introduced the cultural program and celebration dressed in a Slavonian folk costume, alongside Sinj mayor Kristina Križanac who was wearing a traditional Sinj costume.

 

The event also included a cluster of women entrepreneurs from RH 'Kolo', which was established in the town of Sinj and whose members are from the city of Vukovar, the city of Sinj, and the whole of Croatia.

 

Not only was rich cuisine presented, but also the traditional customs of the Sinj and Cetina region, including traditional crafts and items such as copper, woodwork, traditional costumes, paintings and other offerings. The cultural program was derived from Sinj and Cetina wedding customs and Sinjski old town dances.

 

On the Sunday, everyone dressed in traditional costumes and participated in the celebration of mass at the church. Filip and Jakov sang the song 'O Lady of Sinj', which was a magnificent finale to the overall presentation in Vukovar, forming rich experiences, good memories and agreed cooperation between Vukovar, Sinj and the Cetina.
