One of Europe's premier concert venues comes alive again, as the ancient Roman ampitheatre in Pula hosts the opening night of the 2016 Dimensions Festival. A photo special.
The 5th annual Dimensions festival 2016 opening concert once again took place in the magnificent Pula Arena Roman ampitheatre on August 24, 2016.
Kamasi Washington began the concert and the American Jazz saxophonist and his band soon had the crowd dancing and swaying with his unique brand of funky jazz taken from his debut album THE EPIC.
After a quick set change the stage was ready, the biggest yet to be constructed in the arena, for the much anticipated British band Massive Attack.
With the arena full, Massive Attack were soon demonstrating why they are regarded as one of the world's best and leading trip hop groups. The light and laser show complimented all their hits and crowd favourites from their 5 albums.
To keep the party going well into the early hours of Thursday morning the infamous American techno and house DJ Moodymann took center stage and those few in the crowd that were not dancing soon were.
A great opening night and now the underground electronic music festival begins at Fort Punta Christo, just outside Pula.
With 7 stages, daily beach parties , boat cruise parties and 100 s of international Dj s playing nightly from 21.00 until 06.00, it promises to live up and exceed all expectations.
